ANNOUNCEMENT
For the last 7 years, my family has been blessed to own and steward a beautiful property in Shannondale known as “The Loo With a View”. For the duration of that time, we have sought to provide the community with a place to gather, socialize, be entertained, and just enjoy the beauty and serenity offered by its unique location on the Shenandoah River. As with all things in life, each thing has a season, and as my wife Lucy and I move toward full retirement, we have decided that the season for “The Loo” in our lives is coming to an end. It is time to sell “The Loo” and focus our time and energy on other important efforts right here in our community, as well as travel and enjoy life together.
To that end, we will be listing the property for sale with Brianna Goetting Homes Sold on August 3rd, 2026. Before we do that, we wanted to offer the local community an opportunity to acquire the property from us directly without the additional cost of realtor fees etc. We are hopeful that someone local who loves this community as much as we do would be willing to purchase it and hopefully continue the tradition we started of using the property to support the local community and make Shannondale a better place to live for all of us.
To answer some questions up front. No, neither of us is sick. No, we are not selling our house and leaving Shannondale. Yes, we will still be heavily involved in this community, just in different ways. No, it cannot be developed into townhouses or condos or … It is a floodplain, so that limits what can be done with it in the future.
