We are looking for local bakers who want to enter our pie competition. The proceeds from the sale of the pies all goes directly to the Blue Ridge Food Pantry.

Hunting Season is fast approaching. Would you like to sight in your rifle on a range right here in Shannondale?

On Sunday, November 3rd, from 1000 to 1600, The Loo With a View will host a rifle sight-in day. This will be a reservation-only event. The time will be broken into one-hour blocks, and each shooter will be assigned a range time. The time blocks will consist of 15 minutes to arrive and set up, 25 minutes to shoot, and 20 minutes to clean up and depart as the next group arrives.

There will be two shooters per time block. Each shooter will be provided with a bench from which to shoot and one sight-in target. A spotter will assist the shooters with locating their shots.

The shooting distance will be 125 FEET, so each shooter should know and understand the ballistics of their rifle to calculate the shot placement for the distance they wish to have their rifle zeroed.

The cost is $5.00 cash per shooter and will include one sighting target. Bring your own ammo and eye and ear protection.

To register, email: [email protected] with your preferred day and time. Shooters will be offered alternate times as slots fill if their preferred slot is already booked. First request, first scheduled.

If you want to volunteer to work the range that day as an RSO or observer, please send an email with your availability.

Thank You to all who attended and supported our 4th annual Blue Ridge Fall Festival yesterday. We had a spectacular day weatherwise and a great turnout to help the Blue Ridge Food Pantry with their efforts right here in our community. Over $500 in cash donations went to the food pantry from the community directly and an additional amount will be sent to them once all the books are done. They also filled a pickup truck with your non-perishable food donations. The competitors did a fantastic job with their cooking; the official results are below. Thanks to all of our judges, the vendors who shared their crafting skills, and the musicians who played, including Will Turner and Shotgun Highway. We look forward to returning again next year for our 5th annual Blue Ridge Fall Festival, which will be held on October 18th, 2025.
