We have been invited to attend a Livestock Showmanship Clinic. Any 4H members are welcome to attend! If you have any questions, please give us a call at 406-632-4728!

Musselshell-Golden Valley Livestock Showmanship Clinic
Join us for the Musselshell-Golden Valley Livestock Showmanship Clinic on Thursday, June 25, 2026, from 4:00–8:00 p.m. at the Fairgrounds in Roundup, MT.
This clinic is open to all skill levels, from beginners to senior members. Species covered will include beef, swine, sheep, and goats. Members are not required to bring their own animals, but it is highly encouraged. This is a great opportunity for youth to practice showmanship, get their animals used to a new environment, and learn more about handling, fitting, trimming, and preparing their livestock for fair.
We will have experienced presenters working with youth through demonstrations, hands-on practice, and question-and-answer opportunities. The goal of this clinic is to help livestock project members build confidence, improve their skills, and have fun working with their animals alongside other 4-H members.
Tentative Schedule
4:00–6:00 p.m. — Swine and Goats
Showmanship, trimming/fitting demonstration, and feeding/nutrition discussion.
5:30–6:30 p.m. — Dinner
Dinner details will be announced once finalized.
6:00–8:00 p.m. — Sheep and Beef
Showmanship, trimming/fitting demonstration, and feeding/nutrition discussion.
Registration
Please register through ZSuite by June 15, 2026.
When registering, please indicate:
Which species workshop or workshops you plan to attend
Whether you plan to bring your own animal
Youth do not have to bring an animal to participate, but bringing project animals is strongly encouraged for the best hands-on learning experience.

Yesterday our Cloverbud and Lucky Leprechaun 4H clubs were tasked to help spread kindness around our community! We were asked by a group of people to help with "Kindness Runs Fast in Wheatland County", to show this, they asked our 4H members to handout flowers and a "Kindness Runs Fast in Wheatland County" sticker to show that a small act of kindness can make a big impact! Our 4Hers got to practice public speaking, how to introduce themselves, tell people what they were doing, and spread joy all at the same time!

So today, and everyday, remember even the smallest acts can make someone else's day a little better.

Equine Infectious Anemia (EIA), also known as Coggins’ disease or swamp fever, is a viral disease that is transmitted by flies and contaminated equipment. EIA is indicated by high fever, labored breathing, pounding heartbeat, and anemia. There is no treatment or vaccine for EIA, and once infected animals become carriers for life, there is a risk of infecting other horses. Infected horses must either be euthanized or isolated permanently. Prevention is done by identifying carriers of the disease through a Coggins test and never reusing needles.
