Dear Harlowton Community,

We are pleased to announce that fruit sales have begun. To place your order, please contact an FFA member. This year, we will offer pre-mixed boxes instead of individual crates while continuing with the same supplier as in previous years. Don't worry, the quality of the fruit will remain exceptional.

Best regards,
Mr. Vanek

Harlowton had such an amazing opportunity to represent our chapter at DLS! Three members attended where they were able to grow their leadership experience through multiple different workshops. Great first start to the year!

Western DLS has came and gone once again! Our 2nd Vice President: Romulus Hiner, Reporter: Grace Mosher, Sentinel: Ryan Bal, and Parliamentarian: Grace McPherson, travelled all over the western side of the state this week. Middle school members were able to learn about managing their risks and becoming comfortable in the uncomfortable, which was taught by Rom and Grace Mcpherson, and our high school members learned about how to better understand/appreciate others perspectives, while allowing their emotions to not cloud their judgment, which was taught by Grace Mosher and Ryan! Our team would like to extend a huge thank you to Frenchtown for hosting the Western district, Cascade for hosting the Glacier district, Geraldine for hosting the Milk River and Judith Basin districts, and Belgrade for hosting the Yellowstone and Southwestern districts!!! We truly appreciate all the hard work of setting up and feeding our members and team. These workshops could not happen without the help of our advisors, and staff!!
Western DLS, you all were amazing! Thank you for a great week.

Harlowton FFA Prepares for Exciting Year with New Advisor and Activities

With the new school year finally here, Harlowton FFA officers have eagerly awaited to kick this year off with activities and contests! Along with a new year, comes the wonderful opportunity of gaining a new advisor, Mr. Joe Vanek. With almost 15 years of FFA advising experience under his belt, we can not wait to see the outstanding growth our chapter will have this year. Updates to look for sponsored by our Wheatland FFA Chapter include Friday Fun Day activities for K-6, fundraisers (annual fruit baskets), and contest updates and awards.

Here’s a little intro that Mr. Joe Vanek wrote to introduce himself to our community;

Hello Engineers! I am excited to join the crazy train at Harlowton High School as the Business and Agricultural education teacher. I began teaching in 2010 at Moore School as an ag-ed teacher. I live just south of Eddie’s Corner on the family ranch with my wife and three kids. Yes, I am driving back and forth each day.

We can’t wait to experience this year with our new advisor and new and old chapter members! As we kick off this new year, we can’t wait to work with our community to grow and express our agricultural and leadership experience throughout.

Next Post: DLS Update!
