Trinity on the Border

Trinity on the Border Trinity on the Border is a little mission serving Christ along the South Texas/Mexico border. You can see some pics on our website: thebordermission.org

We work on both sides of the border and do a little bit of a whole lot of things. Our work falls into 5 main categories: chapel (pastoral, Christian formation, etc.), border relief/response, healthcare, an elementary school, and a training program for future priests.

WE NEED $100/DAY WORTH OF SAM'S CLUB CARDS.

This is Hector. He has been running a shelter in Reynosa, Mexico for 25 years. Their capacity is about 200 people (adults). Currently, they have over 600 adults and children with more arriving daily.

Trinity on the Border is partnering with his shelter, Senda de Vida, to help get them food and other necessary supplies. The easiest way for this to happen is Sam's Club Gift Cards. We estimate they will need about $100/day worth of rice, beans, soup, and diapers.

Please do not send supplies as it is difficult to impossible to import them into Mexico. Sam's Cards can be used at the Sam's Club in Mexico.

You can send the cards to:
Trinity on the Border
P.O. Box 231
La Feria, TX 78559

*Update* On World Refugee Day, we shared a post introducing you to “Natalie” who had to flee her home in the Ukraine, only to encounter unimaginable abuse and trials along her journey to the US. Natalie has worked very hard to make a new life for herself here in the Rio Grande Valley, working long hours for little pay. She is the most loyal, humble, and loving soul. Well just yesterday Natalie passed her driver’s license test!! The difficulty of the weeks, months, and years leading up to this accomplishment made for an extremely happy and proud day. We are so proud of her hard work and determination.

Thank you to those of you who support Trinity on the Border! It is an absolute privilege to walk with friends like Natalie - through both the dark and happy times. ♥️

World Refugee Day | Post #4
If you read any of our previous posts today, then you “met” some amazing individuals. We are better people for knowing each of them - Daniel and I count it a true privilege to call them friends. Each of these friends spent a significant amount of time at La Posada Providencia, a local shelter for immigrants and refugees. Please check out this video to learn more about their mission and how you can partner with them!

World Refugee Day | Post # 3
When we met “Natalie” from Ukraine two years ago, we were celebrating her newly granted asylum here in the US. From what we understand, she was working as a social worker in Ukraine, giving aid to victims of social unrest. She and her colleagues then became targets of the government and she fled for her safety. On her journey to the US, she became a victim of abuse and human trafficking.

Natalie has worked very hard to make a new life for herself here in the Rio Grande Valley, working long hours for little pay. She is the most loyal, humble, and loving soul who is extremely grateful for any acts of kindness. One of Natalie’s recent undertakings is the pursuit of her driver’s license. Take a minute to listen to her emotional reaction as she receives her Texas learners permit in the mail... it’s priceless. You can hear her say through happy tears, “One more step... little by little... I can do this...thank you God.” (We blacked out the screen to protect her privacy but she knew I was recording. 🙂)
