It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Sergeant Lee Wagner who died unexpectedly following a sudden medical emergency on August 19, 2026.

Sergeant Wagner served the Montgomery Township Police Department with distinction for 16 years. Throughout his career, Sergeant Wagner was known for unwavering dedication to the community, commitment to fellow officers, and professionalism in service to others.

Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with Sergeant Wagner’s family, loved ones, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time. We ask that the privacy of the family be respected as they grieve this tremendous loss.

Sergeant Wagner will be remembered not only for the badge he proudly wore, but for the lives touched through a career dedicated to protecting and serving others. He believed in putting others before himself, stepping up when others would not, and choosing to provide, protect, and love with his whole heart.

He is survived by his wife and four children, who were the center of his life. Those wishing to assist the Wagner family during this difficult and heartbreaking time can make a donation through Fund the First or the Montgomery County Hero Fund.

William Ciccoli Jr. was sentenced yesterday to 22 1/2 to 45 years in state prison for the Nov. 15, 2024, shooting of Pottstown Police Cpl. Anthony Fischer, while grabbing the corporal’s gun.

Police were called to Ciccoli’s residence the night of the shooting for a domestic violence call. Officer’s arrived, assessed the scene and began to place Ciccoli in handcuffs when he reached for the corporal’s fi***rm, shooting a bullet into Cpl. Fischer’s leg, nicking his femoral artery. This left 12 bullet fragments in his leg, forcing him to retire from being a police officer.

During the sentencing, District Attorney Kevin Steele addressed the court, “This is a guy that’s just not taking accountability for his actions. We’re here because of his actions. No other reason,” said DA Steele, “We all got to see exactly what he did. And we slowed it down — he went for the officer’s gun. They knew he was going for it and said it out loud. There was a struggle, and he pulled the trigger on the officer’s gun and shot him.”
