Calling all ASP community members, homeowners, staff alumni, and volunteers!

WE'RE HIRING individuals to cook with ASP at our Harlan County center this summer! In this summer position, you will cook dinner for volunteers from across the country. We are so excited to be back in Harlan County in just a few short weeks!

Details:
-Term is June 13th - July 31st
-Sunday evening through Friday evening each week, with Thursday evening off.
-Position is paid hourly
-Contact us for any additional information

All food will be prepped and ready to cook and serve!

As the summer comes to an end for us here in Harlan County, we must part ways. Here is what we will be up to next:

David is starting his junior year at Purdue, where he will be playing lacrosse.

Alex is starting his sophomore year at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. There, he will continue working on his degree in construction science.

Eliah is excited to be a fellow for ASP and will be a staffer in the Jonesville center.

Victoria is going to enter her junior year at Drew University and continue her study of religion and psychology.

After photos of Poppy Seed! This summer, we worked on putting in 4 new bedrooms for the family’s children. We repitched the roof. We put in a new subfloor and installed flooring coverings. We framed out the rooms, installed electric, and hung drywall. Thanks to your donations, we were able to give each new room a bed, sheets picked out by the child, a pillow, a mattress, and a dresser.

After photos of Egg! This summer, we installed a new roof on the addition. We repaired the band joist between the addition and the mobile home. We repaired the subfloor and laid new floor coverings in the laundry room, hallways, and kitchen. We removed mold. We hung drywall in the bathroom and in parts of the living room and kitchen. We installed new cabinets and a new sink. We installed new interior doors. We repaired the HVAC system, fixed the shower plumbing, and vented the bathroom.

After photos of Jalapeno Cheddar! This summer we worked on the kitchen. We started by removing the old floor system and building a new floor system. We rebuilt the kitchen exterior wall. We hung drywall in the kitchen. We installed a new kitchen window. We installed a new sink and cabinets. We built a retaining wall.
