SUPPORT THOSE YOUNGINS!
Here are a few opportunities to support those youngins on the air.
> Harlan County High School Boo Bash will be taking place today, Oct 15th from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
The Harlan County High School ARC (KY4HCS) will have a table set up to pass out some treats and share the hobby with others. Try to get out there and support them.
> Jamboree On The Air (JOTA) will be on the air this coming weekend, Oct 18th - 20th.
JOTA is the largest Scouting event in the world and is an annual event in which Scouts all over the world connect with each other. Be listening for them and give them a contact. For more information go to arrl.org/jamboree-on-the-air-jota
> ARRL School Club Roundup will be taking place the week of Oct 21st - 25th.
The School Club Roundup is an amateur radio event for clubs and individuals, especially those that are associated with elementary, middle, junior high, or high schools, or colleges. The objective is to give young people experience with on-air activity in a contest-like format by exchanging QSO information with any amateur radio stations. > 2024-2025 Dresden Elementary Amateur Radio Station KD8NOM Contest.
KD8NOM will be QRV starting on Tuesday, October 15th to kick off their Who Can Make the Most Contacts with KD8NOM 2024-2025 school year contest. They are normally active during their club meetings after school on Tuesdays. Watch DX summit for postings of when and what frequency. They most likely be on 20 and 40 meters and their local 2 meter repeaters in Dresden, OH. Be listening for them and see if you can "Work All DEARS"!
