One Harlan County was proud to recently partner with the Harlan County Community Action Agency, Inc. to host a local job fair in our community! 💼✨

We were excited to welcome a variety of local employers who set up tables and connected directly with the next generation of our workforce. Students from both Harlan High School and Harlan County High School had the opportunity to explore career paths, ask questions, and learn about the many opportunities available close to home. 🎓🤝

Events like this are all about building connections, strengthening our local economy, and showing our students that they can build a future right here in Harlan County. 💙

Thank you to all the employers, educators, and partners who helped make this event a success!

It was wonderful to host a regional collaboration meeting in Harlan today, bringing together elected officials, community leaders, business leaders, and partners from across Southeastern Kentucky.

The gathering created an important opportunity to learn from one another, discuss shared challenges, and collaborate on meaningful economic development projects and community improvements that will strengthen our region for years to come 📈🏘️

We’re proud that One Harlan County’s Interim Executive Director Geoff Marietta and Board Member Dr. Lee Harrison had the opportunity to present during the meeting, highlighting the exciting work happening in Harlan County and the partnerships helping move our community forward.

We’re especially grateful for the leadership of Kentucky Senate President Robert Stivers in championing this effort, and to Volunteers of America and SOAR for helping organize and bring partners to the table. When we work together across county lines and sectors, we can accomplish more for Harlan County and all of Southeastern Kentucky 💙

One Harlan County, alongside Harlan Tourism, was excited to host our friends from Hazard for a visit to Harlan! 👋

We were especially grateful to have the Mayor of Hazard, Happy Mobelini, along with our friends Zach Lawrence, Joey Jones and others, in town to see firsthand the incredible momentum happening in our community. A special thank you to Harlan Tourism, and particularly Downtown Development Director Laura Adkisson, for helping lead a tour of downtown Harlan and showcasing how tourism supports local businesses, drives economic development, and creates fun, engaging activities for residents and visitors alike.

Our guests were especially impressed with the new Harlan Museum, where we were thrilled to come across a handwritten note from Muhammad Ali to Cawood Ledford 🥊📜 — proof that you truly never know what pieces of history you’ll discover at the Harlan Museum.

It was a great opportunity to share ideas, learn from one another, and highlight how collaboration and creativity are helping move Harlan forward.
