Serving our community doesn’t stop at our city limits.

When the Killeen Professional Fire Fighters' Association, Local 2505 put out a call for volunteers to help with their Junior Fire Academy, two of our own Harker Heights Fire Fighters from Local 5548 didn’t hesitate to step up and answer the call.

Big thanks to FF Aly Schwindt and FF Ernesto Rodarte for your willingness to volunteer your time to inspire the next generation of firefighters. It is a reflection of what this profession is all about—service, leadership, and giving back to our community.

Congratulations to FF/EMT Mason Heifner on successfully completing his one-year probationary period!

Today, Mason reached an important milestone in his fire service career. As the fire department continues to move forward, he participated in a new tradition with his Captain presenting him with his new helmet shield at the top of the ladder—a symbol of dedication, hard work, and commitment to serving our community.

Mason has demonstrated professionalism, determination, and a strong commitment to the citizens of Harker Heights throughout his probationary year. We, as his fellow brothers and sisters appreciate the effort he has put in and look forward to watching him continue to grow in his career.
