This shed/cabin was something we desperately need at Project Haven.

Thanks to a local family & Fishers Transport, it became a reality this past week. We are so excited about the future opportunities this will create for us to serve those who serve us all!

Congratulations Hunter Delp!

It has been a great start to the 2025 Virginia Whitetail Deer season at Project Haven.

We started youth weekend with a bang! Grayson Stephenson harvested a young doe with his 350 legend over the Green Cover Seed Food Plots.

Archery season has been slow but productive. Harvesting meat for the freezer is always a huge plus!

We are anticipating a great Muzzleloader season starting this weekend.

IF YOU ARE WANTING TO HUNT THIS YEAR, PLEASE CONTACT ME SO WE CAN GET YOU SCHEDULED!

Hunting Season is right around the corner and we are busy getting things ready for you!

Project Haven is a 100-acre sanctuary designed to give law enforcement officers and their families a place to step away from the weight of the badge and find rest. At the heart of this land is a serene 2.5-acre pond, fully stocked with trout, where the water’s calm reflects the purpose of this space—to help officers decompress, restore balance, and reconnect with what matters most.

Along with the pond is beautiful hunting land that will be filled with officers and their families this coming fall and winter.

If you are an officer looking to spend some time decompressing from the stresses of the job, you would like to spend some time with your spouse or kids, or maybe just spend some time with one of our Chaplains, reach out and we will get a time set up for you to come enjoy the land.

Simply reach out to us here through SHIELD Outdoors, connect with us at Shield Chap, visit our website at www.shieldchap.org, or email Chaplain Stephenson at [email protected].

Congratulations Brandon! We are excited to see more Project Haven progress. When we first acquired the property we had no turkey at all. It has been great to see a change in the wildlife after a few changes to the habitat.

Congratulations Melissa! Spring Turkey is the best!

My wife , Melissa Foster, took the reins this morning and harvested her first bird. She made a perfect shot at 25 yards and couldn’t be happier. Great start to the season. Proud of her is an understatement. Taken in Patrick County!

Update on Project Haven

As many of you know, we have been extremely busy at Project Haven the last two weeks. Our team at Shield Chap, as well as many officers and friends, have joined us for some very intense work over the last 14 days.

Due to a very generous anonymous donor, we have had an Excavator and a Skid Steer on site to make some major headway on the projects we have wanted to see happen. We were also blessed with a donation of 170 tons of gravel from Rockydale Quarry for the roads on the land.

Check out the video below as Chaplain Stephenson gives us a more detailed look at everything that has taken place.

Thank you to everyone who has jumped in to make this such a successful project!

The views at Project Haven are second to none.

However, this nighttime photo by Chaplain Stephenson is not like anything else we’ve seen.

Work continues today at Project Haven as we are nearing the home stretch of our time with the equipment donated to SHIELD for this week. A full video update will be coming soon of all the work that’s been done this week.

Day 1 of work at Project Haven is complete.

Thanks to a very generous and anonymous donor, we have been able to make some serious headway at Project Haven with the excavator & skid steer.

We’ve taken out many trees, we’ve begun clearing some of the land but much, much more is to come this week!

If you like being outside, you like working in the outdoors, or simply have a desire to help create a place of haven for police officers and their families to rest, we would love for you to join us at some point this week. You can message us here or you can reach out to one of our Chaplains directly.
