Mo money for pigs 501(c)3 pig rescue fund i have decided to become a pig-lanthropist. in may of 2013 I was attacked by a dog. I had both of my ears chewed off. I got infections.

I was in and out of surgery for the next few months. more and more tissue had to be removed. them more tissue died and more removed. it was a very horrible time for me and my family. I got to thinking just how blessed of a pig I am. first of all, I survived. then, I had the best medical care. I have a family that loves me and could afford the veterinarian care. not all pigs can say that! I thought

on that more and more. I would lay awake at night worrying about other pigs. I told mum that we needed to do something about it. mo money for pigs was born. mo money for pigs offers help to all pigs on a case by case basis. while money is never given to individuals, we do pay for fees and costs associated with the health and care of all pigs. we offer a hand up, not a hand out. now for the business stuff...........how we work..... donations are given either for a specific pig or for general use. if we do not get enough for a specific pig we take from the general fund if any is available. if we get more than we need for a specific pig you may ask for your donation to be returned or allow it to go into general funds. final results are posted for each and every fund raiser. please watch for these and then contact me if you do wish your money back. this is an an all volunteer organization. as such, there is not always someone available to offer assistance. we will do our best to respond to each and every message received. generally, you will have a response within 24 hours or less. there are rare times that we cannot. with all our hearts we wish we could help each and every emergency that comes our way. sadly this is just not humanly possible.

MOO UPDATE

moo had quite a bit of fluid removed along with TWO masses. one on the spleen and another on a uterine horn. no idea of when we have test results on any of that.

our girl is doing well and healing nicely. moo is a cuttle bug so all the staff at lsu are falling in love. we are still looking at a discharge later this week. along with a discharge date comes paying the bill. looks to be around $3000 and we only have $1700 so far so please help if you can. paypal, zelle, or venmo to [email protected] with moo in the remarks.

FLAG DAY RAFFLE 14 june 2026

we have for your consideration the "true blue" quilt celebrating the 250 birthday of the u s of a!

this quilt, more of a throw, measures just about 46" by 64". long enough to cover your shoulder and your feet! the top is all cotton. 17 squares with hand appliqued pigs in various patriotic prints. these, along with 18 additional squares of a beautiful blue print, are hand quilted to a 100% cotton flannel, with polyester batting in between. the squares are then joined and finished by machine allowing for machine wash and dry. i will warn you, that blue bleeds so take it out of the washer immediately and toss it into the dryer. (you can see on the reverse side how the blue tinted the polyester batting. mum is going to toss in a few of those color catcher sheets so the next few times you wash it you have them to toss in.)

MOO UPDATE

this is an update well worth the wait! moo is doing great! she is moving around nicely. she is enjoying her meals as well as being spoiled by the vet techs. miss heather told one of the techs about how sunny was missing her adopted baby. she thought moo might be missing sunny as well so look what moo was given!!!

we are hoping for a discharge mid week!

MOO UPDATE

still upset with lsu and their lack of concern but….

moo is in recovery. they removed a mass. it was not a uterine tumor like we thought but they did remove the uterus too. they also removed her spleen.

more detail will be given us tomorrow after rounds. for now i am just thankful she made it through surgery.

i would love to let you know how surgery went. we were told she was being taken back about 1030. since then CRICKETS!!!!

miss heather has called. mum has called. several times. so many times the answering service is getting an attitude.

miss heather was crying telling them she does not know if her baby is alive or dead. please!!!

MOO UPDATE

moo is doing fine at lsu. not sure she is going to be happy tomorrow when she finds out no breakfast! but they are hoping to have her be in surgery first thing and that is how it goes.

sunny might be a horse but she thinks moo is her baby. she has been pacing around looking for moo and missing her something aweful. i wish animals could understand. but all sunny knows is she is lonely without her moo.

MOO UPDATE

due to an emergency today all surgeries have been pushed back. we are told thursday. on one hand the waiting is just horrible but, i am glad they do not think she is critical! they have her on a few meds to get ready for the surgery. mo seems to be okay with her new digs. eating. peeing. pooping. hand on girl, you got this!

it is a story we hear all too often. some farmer has too many piglets and plans to kill those he cannot sell.

up steps miss heather and her husband to take two. when the marriage ended miss heather was not going to allow anything to happen to her babies. she could not keep them with her but a nice home for them was set up on her aunt's farm.

moo started to get fat, even though she had a proper diet. things like worming were done but that did not help. yes, getting help sooner would have been a good idea, but, when you have no idea a pig could get a tumor that just does not occur to you. you had no idea how important a spay could be. you try everything you can think of and then reach out.

it did not take but a second for people to jump to help moo! miss nita did some networking, miss misty contacted mo money for pigs and got up with miss nicole to do the transport.

it was a v-e-r-y hectic day but finally, everything came together! miss heather and miss nicole got moo loaded up and off to lsu.
moo got checked in last night. she was not eating at first which scared us! but, by morning she had settled in and was glad for her breakfast. a treatment plan was formulated and the approval to proceed given. surgery will be tomorrow or wednesday depending on the schedule.

this is very dangerous surgery for a pig of eight years. what else can we do?? it is surgery with the possibility of many years of happiness yet to come, or..................... i cannot bring myself to type that word.

do you think moo deserves a chance? i sure do and i am going to do everything pigingly possible to give that to her! i know times are hard but just a few dollars from each of you can make this happen. the estimate was $2000 but mum thinks that a bit low. she is thinking surgery will take longer than planned. that is a HUGE tumor.

we have two quilts, made by mum, to celebrate the milestone birthday this 4th of july!

we have "amber waves" and "true blue". whomever has the winning bid can pick which one they would like.

either quilt........... 64" by 46", pretty much. 17 hand appliqued pigs. 35 hand quilted squares, in a pig pattern of course. everything is all cotton except for the thread and the polyester batting. you may machine wash and dry, separately. and check your lint trap in the dryer. lots of lint the first few washes.

the bidding will start at $75.00 with $9.00 shipping. bidding will end 8 june 2026 at 2:50:59 pm est/dst.
