With the arrival of sunny, warmer days, local farmers markets are popping up everywhere and the Harbor Springs Community Food Pantry is no exception! We’re excited to announce that we’ll soon be distributing our fresh produce outside, where our fresh produce initiative will continue for 2026. Our patrons enjoy a “mini farmers market” right at the pantry entrance!
In 2025, the Petoskey-Harbor Springs Area Community Foundation generously provided a start-up grant for our Fresh Produce Initiative which allowed us to provide amazing locally grown produce all season long.
We’re “over the moon” grateful for continuing support for the initiative for 2026 through funding from the Boeckman Family Fund, Birchwood Outreach Fund, Ann K Irish Charitable Fund, Maude and Gorten Miliken Fund, and the Dorothy Scott Fund for Senior Citizens, totaling a $15,000 grant.
For 2026, the pantry will continue the partnership with KK Farms along with Mshko’Ode Farm, which will expand the variety of produce we can provide!
In addition, Awakon Federal Credit Union has awarded the pantry a $2000 grant to support this initiative.
Big, huge thanks to everyone who continues to support us in our mission. We love helping our neighbors!
