Today Troop 115 Scouts had participated in Day 1 of a 2 Day Eagle Scout project at the Marrero Harvey Volunteer Fire station. The Scouts helped sand down a fence and remove rust going around a World War II Memorial with one of our Scouts leading them as he completes his Eagle Scout project. Tomorrow they will be completing phase 2 of the fence by painting the fence with our Scout leading them through this project!!! Our Scouts that are participating are not only helping a Scout earn their Eagle rank, but also earning community service hours to go towards their next rank. Thank you to the Scout family for providing Pizza and Snacks for lunch. Please see attached pictures of scouts completing work today!!!!

This weekend, Troop 115 Scouts attended a camp out with Pack 115 - St. Rita Harahan, LA Scouts at Salmen Scout Reservation Camp V-Bar. Scouts in both Scouting organizations worked on skills to achieve their next ranks!!!! Troop 115 Scouts not only had fun participating in activities they did but they did an awesome job being role models for the younger Cub scouts. Thank you to Troop 115 Scouts for being wonderful role models to up and coming Cub Scouts and for the Troop 115 Scout that took and sent in pictures to share with everyone!!!!

This past weekend, Troop 115 Scouts attended an overnight trip at Ocean Adventures Marine Park in Gulfport Mississippi. The Scouts got to see a private sea lion and dolphin show along with learning a little about marine life rehabilitation, rescue, and conservation. The Scouts were able to participate in a mock rescue/rehabilitation of a dolphin. On the way there, the Scouts also got a chance to stop in at Buc-ee’s. Troop 115 Scouts had a wonderful time!!!! Troop 115 has their first Eagle Scout!!! Congratulations to Dylan Achord on becoming our first Eagle Scout!!!! It was a long road to achieve this rank, it is worth in the end. A lot of Scouts, Adult Leaders and their families had attended and had a wonderful time. Thank you to the Scouts and the Adult Leaders that participated and attended to make this ceremony successful. This weekend, Troop 115 Scouts, camped at Grand Isle and participated in several activities. They worked on their oceanography merit badges being taught by Michelle Meyers. They went into the beach water and worked on collecting samples, along with goofing around in the water. Used microscopes to identify samples they collected. Did some fishing, cooking, and socialized around d a camp fire. For a couple of our Scouts, it was their first time camping with us as Troop 115 Scouts. They did an awesome job with their first official camp out with us. The Scouts learned a lot and had a lot of fun!!!!! A special Thanks to Michelle Meyers for coordinating and teaching these skills. Thank you to Pack 115 for inviting us to your cubsgiving event!!! Pack 115 had a scouts crossover into different Troops. One crossed over to Troop 179 and Troop 115 gained two new Scouts. Today Troop 115 Scouts participated in their annual community service Food Drive for the St. Rita food pantry with the help of our cub scouts from Pack 115. All the Scouts from both Troop 115 and Pack 115 did an awesome job collecting, sorting and stocking the food. This is an important project that both organization’s participate in annually as this benefits sooo many people in the communities we serve for the people in need. The Scouts had a lot of fin participating in this event. Thank you both Scouts in Troop 115 and Pack 115 for your hard work in this event!!! Please see below for pictures from today’s event.

Troop 115 Scouts have had their court of honor this past weekend. The Scouts have achieved different ranks. The various ranks included scout, tenderfoot, second class, first class, star, life and eagle. The scouts have had a lot of fun the past 6 months working on their merit and overcame some challenges. They did an awesome job completing their requirements and overcoming the challenges to earn their merits and ranks!!! Attached are pictures from the Court of Honor. I will be posting more pictures over the next couple day’s.
