It's time for Thankful Thursday!!

Today, we're proud to shine the volunteer spotlight on Jason Siegel, the Vice President of the VOT Board!
Jason and his wife, Rachel, are both Air Force Veterans, and their son recently graduated from Air Force basic training, making selfless service truly a family tradition. Rachel will also be stepping up next year as the Benefit Dinner manager, making another important VOT event possible.

Jason is someone who is always behind the scenes making things happen. He contacts participants, plans meals, coordinates crucial details, and ensures everyone has everything they need to have a great time and quality experience.
this year, Jason helped lead several memorable VOT events, including:

> The VOT Poker run, with help from his Army brother, Preston Siegel
> The Missouri Turkey Hunt
> The Fly-Fishing Trout event in Arkansas

Through each of these events, Jason creates opportunities for veterans to connect, build friendships, share stories, and simply enjoy their time outdoors.

We are incredibly grateful for Jason, his dedication to VOT, and the time and energy he and his family give to supporting our veteran community.

Today is National Gold Star Mothers and Families Day, a day dedicated to honoring the families of soldiers who lost their lives in the line of duty.

We recognize their loss, sacrifice, and endless connection to the loved ones they have lost, and we are eternally grateful for the service and sacrifice of those who gave their lives in defense of our freedom.

May we never forget their courage and bravery, and may we always honor the families who carry their memory forward.

Wrapping up our South Dakota Archery Antelope hunt today at Rocky Point Recreation Area and boy what an amazing impactful weekend we have had!

5 Soldiers from NE, MO, SD and OK were welcomed into the little town of Belle Fourche, SD with open arms and huge hearts. ❤️ 🇺🇸

Thank you to these Soldiers for giving us a chance to honor you for your service and sacrifice to this amazing country we call home.

Today, we remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001—25 years ago.

They were not just victims; they were husbands, wives, parents, children, friends, and loved ones whose lives were taken far too soon.

We honor the first responders who made the ultimate sacrifice, the brave passengers and crew of Flight 93 who fought back against the hijackers, the innocent people who went to work at the World Trade Center and never came home, and everyone else whose lives were forever changed that day.

Today, may we mourn the lives lost, honor the courage of those who gave everything, and hold in our hearts the survivors who continue to carry the memories of that day.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget. 🇺🇸

Cheers to the beards that bring character, confidence, and a little extra personality to our nonprofit community!
In honor of World Beard Day, we’re celebrating the veterans who proudly rock their beards! From a 5 o'clock shadow to glorious mane, every beard has a story, and we’re proud to celebrate the people behind them.
So today, if you come across someone with a beard, give them a big hug, and thank them for their fabulous facial hair!

We are proud to share this beautiful look into Veteran's Outdoor Therapy’s recent Horseback Adventure at Coulter Lake Guest Ranch in Colorado this past July.

A heartfelt thank you to Amanda Trudell for using her talents as a videographer to help us tell our story; Forest and Kelly for graciously hosting the event (of course to Dina and Maru as well), and Connie Stone for her leadership and instruction as our Equine Therapy Instructor. Most importantly we are grateful for the wonderful ladies who participated. It was an honor to spend this time with you and thank each of you personally for your service.

We also want to thank every volunteer and donor whose generosity makes experiences like this possible. We'd like to give a specific shout out to Military Order of the Purple Heart, USA for their grant this summer as well in support of this event.

Stories were told, memories were made and healing was in the air!! Veterans from Georgia and Missouri found the fish and maybe found a new hobby in the outdoors. Thank you Rainbow Drive Resort for hooking them up with an awesome guide and Natural State Fly Shop for the wader rental.
