PLEASE READ THROUGH THE REQUIREMENTS CAREFULLY

The Hopkins County Humane Society is excited to officially begin applications for our “Partners for Paws” community spay/neuter voucher program made possible through funding from the Hopkins County Fiscal Court and matching funds from the Humane Society Board. Together, we have dedicated $10,000 to help Hopkins County residents care for their pets!

Applicants MUST provide:
• Valid photo ID

Eligibility Requirements:
✔️ Must be a Hopkins County resident
✔️ Must be the legal owner of the animal
✔️ Only ONE voucher per household
✔️ Must be 18 years or older to participate
✔️ Participation is NOT guaranteed
✔️ Additional fees may be required by the veterinarian and must be paid directly to that veterinary office

IMPORTANT PET REQUIREMENTS:
• Animals MUST be brought with you to receive a voucher
• Animals will be microchipped at this time (included unless already microchipped)
• NO feral or vicious animals
• All dogs must be on a non-retractable leash
• All cats MUST be secured in a pet taxi/carrier

When you arrive Friday morning:
Please leave your pet safely in your vehicle first, come inside to complete the required paperwork, and then staff will direct you and your pet to the next station.

Payment due at time of voucher pick up: CASH OR CARD ONLY!
Dogs: $50
Cats: $25

Together, we can reduce pet overpopulation and create a brighter future for animals in Hopkins County.

Statewide Tornado Drill on Wednesday, March 4, at 9:07 AM CT

The NWS will again be using live event codes, meaning the message will go over as a Tornado Warning (with lots of TEST wording) and will activate the EAS, We hope that the EAS activation will increase participation. If there is a threat of severe weather at the scheduled time, we will postpone the drill to a fair weather day.

Over the past year, the Hopkins County Humane Society has faced challenges we never expected — including the loss of our permanent shelter on Laffoon Trail. While that chapter was incredibly difficult, your Board of Directors has been working steadily behind the scenes to move us forward toward rebuilding a larger, updated facility that will better serve the animals and our community.

The former shelter site has been cleared, groundwork completed, and we are actively working with engineers and architects as we take the next steps toward rebuilding. This process will take time, planning, and significant financial support — but we are committed to seeing it through.

As part of our early fundraising efforts to support the rebuild, we are excited to bring back a community favorite — our S’PAW’GHETTI Dinner Fundraiser!

The Leo Lions Club signed Thanksgiving cards for the VA Center, and 75 Thanksgiving cards were signed and sent to them. Thank you to our amazing club members!
