T&F Section 5A Championships St. John's University

It was an exciting and HOT day!

Kendra Swanson placed 1st in the Girls 800m with a time of 2:18.75 setting a new team record and qualifying for State AND setting a new Section 5A meet record!! Kendra also placed 2nd in the Girls 1600m with a time of 5:11 qualifying her for State as well.

The boys 4x800m relay placed 3rd with a time of 8:30.74. Spencer McAlpine took 3rd in the boys 3200m with a time of 10:07.30 and Elliott Otis took 3rd in the boys 1600m with a 4:44.57.

T&F 5A Subsection Championships at East Central

Whew! What an exciting day! All the athletes came to compete and ran fast and gave it their best.

The boys 4x400m relay placed 1st with 3:37.54 and the boys 4x800 placed 2nd with a time of 8:23.31. The girls 4x400 placed 3rd with 4:26.85. Kendra Swanson placed 1st in the girls 800m with a time of 2:23.15 and 2nd in the girls 1600m with 5:14.93. Salina Michael placed 3rd in the girls 3200m with a time of 11:39.21. Liam Peterman placed 1st the the boys 110m Hurdles with 17.42 and 2nd in the boys 300m hurdles with 43.74. Spencer McAlpine place 2nd in the boys 3200m with 10:19.43 and Elliott Otis placed 2nd in the boys 1600m with 4:48.35. In the boys 800m run Noah Winters got 2nd with a time of 2:11.28 and Caleb Loar got 3rd with 2:12.63.

It was absolutely freezing outside but that didn't stop anyone from running their best. So many great performances and PRs! Congrats to Kendra Swanson for her 1st place finishes in both the girls 800m with a time of 2:25.78 and the 1600m with a time of 5:19.88. The boys 4x800m relay placed 1st as well with a time of 8:36.57.

It was a bit of a chilly day for a meet but that just seemed to motivate the team to run faster! In the boys 3200m Spencer McAlpine placed 1st with a time of 10:24.72 and Isaiah Gothman placed 2nd with 11:26. Liam Peterman placed 1st in the boys 300 hurdles with a 45.07. Kendra Swanson placed 1st in the girls 800m with a 2:24.05 and in the 1600m with a 5:16.65. The boys 4x800 took 2nd with a time of 8:44.32. In the girls 3200m Salina Michael placed 1st with a time of 11:56.53 and Meredith Gundale placed 2nd with 13:04.65.

This was a new and last minute meet for us after the Big Lake meet was canceled because of the rain. It was a beautiful afternoon for a meet! Kendra Swanson placed 1st in the 1600m run with a time of 5:17.28. Violet Linson placed 1st in the 100m run with a time of 13.59, which is also a new team record. Spencer McAlpine placed 1st in the 3200m run with a time of 10:17.4. Liam Peterman placed 1st in the 300m hurdles with a time of 44.44. The boys 4x400m relay team placed 1st with time of 3:44.2.

It was a windy but exciting day at the Maple Lake meet. The girls and boys 4x800m relay teams both took first place and walked away with some new t-shirts. Kendra Swanson took 1st place in the girls open 800m with a time of 2:22.98 ,which is a new team record. Salina Michael placed 1st in the 3200m with a time of 12:06. Liam Peterman placed 1st in the boys 300m hurdles with a time of 45.92. Congrats to all the athletes on the hard work!
