“Palestinian Land Day posters serve as a monument to the movement they represent. These vibrant graphics weave together images of nature and politics into a tapestry that is a testament to resilience. Like the bloodied kuffieyah print flower that breaks through barbed wire in the 1983 Land Day poster, these depictions promise life beyond barriers.”

Thirty-nine years ago this day, Dartmouth students demanding divestment from South African apartheid who had pitched shanties on the Green were attacked. What ensued included widespread mobilization, genuine campus dialogue, and, ultimately, divestment of the College’s assets from the grievous injustices being committed in South Africa. On the anniversary of the destruction of the shanties, we join our predecessors in demanding that Dartmouth divest from apartheid—this time in Palestine.
