November is here and the first Wednesday of the month is tomorrow! What happens on Worship Wednesday you ask?? This is a day to flood our schools with some Jesus generosity. Where your Generosity Now shirt and plan to do something kind for someone and give them a Generosity Now card. It could be a teacher or another student or maybe the people who clean the school or serve you lunch. Just make it a point to bless someone and the name of Jesus!

UPDATE - Diaper Collection

Thank you to everyone who has donated so far! Both bins at HFCOG are filling up...probably 30-40 boxes of diapers and we have collected $1,200!

We spoke to our new friend Ruth at the Houston Diaper Bank yesterday. They are fully operational, receiving and distributing diapers.

We will be sending our Generosity Now diapers down on Monday, so if you'd like to contribute, you may:

-Send a check payable to Generosity Now at 59 Christians drive, Hanover PA 17331. Remember to write "Diapers" in the memo line.
-Click the DONATE button at generositynow.org. Write "Diapers" in the notes section.
-Drop of a box of diapers at Hanover First Church of God at 600 Fairview Drive, Hanover PA 17331

Generosity Now

Better late than never! Today is Worship Wednesday! What does that mean? It's a day for kids to flood their school with generosity...to wear their GN shirts and give out a card with an act of generosity.

Many have expressed interest in helping us at the New Hope Ministries food pantry on the 2nd Saturday of each month...which is AWESOME! Next Saturday, September 9th is our next day, so if you'd like to come check out what we do, please let us know by commenting below or e-mail us at [email protected].

We arrive by 940 am to get set up and pray and then open the food pantry from 10 am - 12 pm. After a quick 10 - 15 minute clean up, we're done!

Families are encouraged to serve together. Often times, we'll send a Street Team out to go around town to bless people. The Street Team has done things like go to the thrift store and put $1 bills in the pockets of pants with a Generosity Now card....give out flowers and donuts to people at the post office, fire department, hospital....hand out lollipops around town. It's a blast and the kids love it!

If you're a student, this will count towards your community service requirement....and it's a lot of fun anyway!

HURRICANE HARVEY RELIEF

We have made contact with the Houston Diaper Bank and are collecting diapers for those affected by Hurricane Harvey. On Monday, September 11th, we will send all diaper donations to Houston.

Here are ways you can donate!

If you would like to donate money please make a check payable to Generosity Now and write “Harvey” in the memo line. An Amazon gift card works also! You can send your monetary donation/gift card to Generosity Now, 59 Christians Dr., Hanover, PA 17331. 100% of your tax-deductible donation will go to the purchase of diapers.

You may also go to generositynow.org and click the donate button. Again, be sure to write “Harvey” in the note section.

For those who are local and would like to drop off a box of diapers, a monetary gift, or an Amazon gift card, you may do so at Hanover First Church of God, located at 600 Fairview Drive, Hanover, PA. Office hours are Monday-Thursday 8:00AM – 4:00PM and Friday 8:00AM – 12:00PM, OR bring your donation on one of the next two Sunday mornings between 8:00AM – 12:00PM.

Food Pantry Opportunity

To our Hanover locals, we have a great team of volunteers who open the New Hope food pantry on the 2nd Saturday of each month from 10 am - 12 pm. This is a great opportunity for families to serve together. We have people to stock shelves, assist shoppers, bag groceries, check guests in, and sometimes make breakfast in the kitchen!
