"Meet our Partners" Series - Part 1 🎥
In this first interview, we're featuring one of our valued local partners, Notre-Dame de la Sagesse School. Today, more than 15 Jou Nouvo students attend this excellent school, located just 10 minutes from our Community Center.

Since 2021, this partnership has helped provide quality education and new opportunities for the youth we serve. We're grateful for the collaboration and excited to watch our students continue to learn, grow, and reach their full potential. 📚✨..

This year again, Jou Nouvo was pleased to participate in the 32nd edition of "Livres en Folie".

Under the direction of Torrilus, head of library and social development for Jou Nouvo, we were able to add 19 new books to our community library, knowing that they will elevate the minds of our participants.

We are happy to add amazing authors who are references to our culture such as "Maurice Sixto", one of the bearers of "LODYANS", a Haitian literary genre and oral tradition.

We are also happy to add books about haitian history such as "Istwa Boukman" (The story of Boukman)

Last week, Jou Nouvo observed "World Menstrual Hygiene Day - May 28th" with our young girls from the GSP program.
Big thanks to for engaging the conversation with our participants around the importance of good menstrual hygiene management and adequate menstrual health education.

Jou Nouvo will continue to raise awareness around menstruation and advocate for all girls to have access to affordable menstrual products without shame or discrimination.

Every last Sunday of May, Haiti celebrates Mother's Day. Yesterday, our staff and program participants marked the occasion by celebrating the mothers and mother figures who represent the pillars of our community. ❤️

Our monthly newsletter that came out last week captures that spirit beautifully:
"At the center of the flag's coat of arms stands a royal palm, known as the Poto Mitan, the central column that holds everything together. If that phrase sounds familiar, it should. It is the same word we use to describe the women who are the pillars of Jou Nouvo. The Poto Mitan is woven into our flag, our culture, and our daily work."
