Thank You for Supporting Maynard House đź’™

We’re grateful to share that Maynard House recently received an anonymous $6,000 grant through the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation.

This generous support is especially meaningful because grants for operating expenses are few and difficult to find. Flexible operating support helps us keep the lights on, maintain our home, and continue welcoming patients and families who need an affordable, safe place to stay while receiving medical care in the Upper Valley.

Every dollar of support helps us keep our doors open to people during some of the most vulnerable times in their lives. We are deeply grateful to this anonymous donor for investing in the work of Maynard House. ❤️

Want to help? Your donation—of any size—helps us continue providing a home away from home for those who need it most.

There’s nothing quite like the comfort of something homemade. 💙

We are so grateful to local resident **Shirley Parker**, who regularly brings homemade breakfast breads—blueberry, banana, and zucchini—for our guests to enjoy at Maynard House.

Recently, one of our guests loved Shirley’s banana bread so much that she asked for the recipe! She shared that the delicious homemade treat made her feel a little more at home during an especially difficult and uncertain time.

It’s moments like these that remind us that caring for our guests is about more than providing a place to stay. It’s about creating a warm, welcoming place where people feel cared for, supported, and a little less alone.

Thank you, Shirley, for sharing your time, talent, and kindness with our Maynard House family. ❤️

Administrative Coordinator – Part-Time
Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–3:00 PM | $23/hour

Looking for a job that feels meaningful and still lets you be home when the kids get out of school?

Maynard House is looking for a warm, organized, dependable Administrative Coordinator to join our small nonprofit team. We provide affordable lodging for patients and families who travel to the Upper Valley for medical care, and our work makes a real difference for people during challenging times.

This could be a wonderful fit for someone whose children are heading back to school and who is looking for a meaningful part-time position with a school-friendly schedule. You'll work Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM–3:00 PM, giving you the opportunity to contribute to a mission you care about while still being available for school pickup and afternoon family time.

What You'll Do
• Welcome and assist guests and families
• Coordinate reservations, guest communications, and intake
• Maintain records, schedules, and office systems
• Assist with donations, invoices, and basic financial data entry
• Coordinate housekeeping schedules and supplies
• Help with newsletters, social media, and website updates
• Assist with Board meeting preparation and community events
• Provide general administrative support to the Executive Director

We're looking for someone who is:
• Organized and dependable
• Warm, compassionate, and comfortable working with people from all backgrounds
• Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple priorities
• A strong communicator
• Comfortable with computers and willing to learn new software
• Interested in doing work that has a positive impact on others

Administrative, office, hospitality, customer service, or nonprofit experience is helpful, but we're more interested in finding the right person—someone who cares about people and takes pride in doing good work.

Compensation
$23/hour, approximately 30 hours per week.

This position offers the rare combination of meaningful work, a predictable weekday schedule, and afternoons free.
If you're looking for a way to get back into the workforce, stay connected to your community, and make a difference—while still making it home for school release—we'd love to hear from you.

🌿 **A Beautiful Gift from Women Crossing Paths**

We were so honored to celebrate a very special gift to Maynard House from **Women Crossing Paths**, a local group with a long history of giving back to our community.

As the group prepares to disband, its members chose to make one final donation to Maynard House—a beautiful picnic table that is also designed to convert into a comfortable bench. It’s our **first outdoor seating area**, and we know it will become a favorite spot for guests to relax, share a meal, or simply enjoy a little fresh air.

On August 6, members of Women Crossing Paths gathered at Maynard House to commemorate the gift, bringing pizza and drinks to share with our staff and guests. It was a wonderful afternoon of conversation, laughter, and community. ❤️

We are so grateful to Women Crossing Paths for choosing Maynard House for their final gift and for leaving behind such a meaningful legacy of generosity.

**Thank you for giving our guests a beautiful place to gather!** 🌳💙

At Maynard House, we believe that no one should have to worry about where they'll stay while receiving medical care.

Beginning July 1, 2026, our guest room rate will be $50 per room, per night. This modest increase helps us keep pace with rising operating costs while continuing to provide a safe, welcoming, and affordable home away from home for patients and their loved ones.

There's good news, too! Guests sharing a room will now pay just $50 total per night instead of $80, making stays even more affordable for families and caregivers traveling together.

Even with this adjustment, the cost of a stay at Maynard House remains just a fraction of what a local hotel would charge. Thanks to the generosity of our donors and community, we're able to keep our rates low and continue welcoming anyone who needs us—regardless of their ability to pay.

Thank you for being part of the Maynard House community and for helping us continue this important mission. đź’›

What a wonderful day of teamwork at Maynard House! 💙🌿🎨
We were fortunate to welcome an amazing group of volunteers from Dimas House, who spent the morning giving back alongside our friend Chris Brown from the Hanover Garden Club. Together, they tackled projects big and small—from painting our front porch and refreshing our gardens to organizing tools into our brand-new tool cabinet and completing a variety of other much-needed tasks around the house.
These projects help keep Maynard House warm, welcoming, and comfortable for the patients and families who rely on us during some of life's most challenging moments.
After a productive day, everyone gathered to enjoy pizza, great conversation, and the satisfaction of a job well done. It was a wonderful reminder of what can be accomplished when our community comes together in service.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone from Dimas House, Chris Brown, and the Hanover Garden Club for sharing your time, talents, and generous spirit. We couldn't do this work without volunteers like you! ❤️

🎉 Thank You, Mascoma Bank! 🎉

We are thrilled to announce that Maynard House has been awarded a $3,000 grant from the Mascoma Savings Bank Foundation to strengthen our donor management and fundraising capacity through improvements to our Little Green Light donor database platform.

This investment will support staff training, database optimization, and enhanced fundraising systems, helping us build stronger relationships with our donors, improve stewardship efforts, and ensure we can continue providing affordable lodging and compassionate support to patients and families traveling to the Upper Valley for medical care.

Strong nonprofit organizations require strong systems behind the scenes, and we are deeply grateful to Mascoma Savings Bank Foundation for recognizing the importance of this work.

Thank you for helping us build a stronger future for Maynard House and the hundreds of guests we serve each year. đź’™
