Recently, God has been reshaping my definition of sin. It’s not just about the “bad things” we do. At its simplest, it’s actually living outside of our intended design. That includes us missing out on the abundance He intends for us because we’ve settled for a less than version.

If we’re going to actually be the church, a living reflection of the beauty, holiness and love of Christ that shines His glory to the lost, we cannot simply possess His Spirit. We must be filled with it.

It’s truly what David was articulating in Psalm 23. We might be walking through the valley of the shadow of death—perhaps even today. But, know this: Shadows aren’t real; they just feel ominous. And our God is a good Father who only intends the best for us. You can trust His hand to lead you through it. And as you emerge from the shadows, you’ll experience the reality of verse 6: “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life…"

Her journey has been long, painful, and brave beyond words. Healing doesn’t always look the way we expect, but witnessing someone reclaim their life is a reminder of what the human spirit can endure and rise from with God by your side. It’s a reminder that resilience is real, community matters, and hope is always worth holding onto.

Has it occurred to you that your life holds great significance to your Creator? That you are cherished, sought after, and created with purpose? If you hesitate to believe that, consider Scripture’s explanation of why God determined your particular time and place. “God did this so that men would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us. Acts 17:27” God set you in this time and within your individual circumstances so that you “would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him.”
