Today, the Nurse Gisselle Foundation had the great privilege of partnering with Nyongdifon Foundation Bethel Community Aiders to commemorate World Menstrual Hygiene Day by creating awareness on menstrual hygiene among young girls at GS Bota Limbe.

The outreach was filled with education, interaction, encouragement, and empowerment as we taught the girls about proper menstrual hygiene practices, the importance of self-care during their menstrual cycle, and how to confidently embrace womanhood without shame or fear. We also emphasized the importance of breaking myths and stigma surrounding menstruation, especially in our communities where many young girls still lack adequate information and support. ❤️

Seeing the smiles, confidence, and willingness of these young girls to learn reminded us why awareness and education are so important. Every girl deserves access to menstrual health education, dignity, support, and the confidence to pursue her dreams regardless of her period.

We extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who contributed, supported, and made this awareness campaign successful. Together, we are building a future where young girls are informed, empowered, confident, and unashamed. ✨

On World Hand Hygiene Day, let’s commit to washing hands properly with soap and water for at least 20 seconds to protect ourselves and others from infection.CLEAR Radiology Buea

About 1.8 million children under the age of 5 die from diarrheal diseases and pneumonia around the world yearly (CDC, 2024).
Proper handwashing can prevent about 30% of diarrheal-related illnesses and 20% of respiratory infections.

This World Hand Hygiene Day 2026, we encourage everyone to wash hands properly and regularly, and teach children how to do same, so we keep our community healthy.
