Maple Shade, NJ… A New Jersey community united in prayer for 12-year-old Xavier Taylor, a baseball player left in critical condition after a freak accident during warmups.

The incident occurred Tuesday when a ball struck Xavier in the neck before a game at Fellowship Columbia Bank Field. He was airlifted to Cooper University Hospital, where he remains in the ICU in critical condition, reportedly on a ventilator/life support as of the latest updates from May 29.

Hundreds of friends, teammates, and neighbors gathered at the same field for a candlelight vigil, wearing shirts with Xavier’s number 6.

Organizers led prayers of “strength, hope, and love,” while the community raised over $60,000 and set up a meal train for the family.
