Square Butte Creek Pheasants Forever located in Center, ND is an active chapter of the National Pheasants Forever Association. Pheasants Forever is the nation’s leading upland game bird conservation organization. ng conditions for pheasants and other wildlife. Pheasants Forever is the “Habitat Organization” which is what our chapter is committed to do. Local chapter leaders have the common belief that providing quality habitat will benefit not only pheasant but other wildlife in the area as well. The Square Butte Creek Chapter has formed a Ringnecks youth group. This gathers the young people of the area with interest in outdoor activities and teaches them the understanding of wildlife needs and efforts necessary to provide habitat. The chapter has youth activities, which include two BB Gun shoots annually, one during Old Settlers Day in June and one during the Oliver County Fair. This gives kids a chance to shoot a BB gun and get experience as well as getting a prize. There are educational events and habitat development involvement as well. The youth of today are the future of outdoor activities. In North Dakota, youngsters are offered these opportunities to get out, learn and enjoy the natural world around them. Square Butte Creek Pheasants Forever chapter is composed of local volunteer residents with a vision to enhance wildlife resources through their efforts. The involvement of businesses in the area is paramount in the success of the chapter. Local contributions will allow our chapter members to apply the fundraising profits to enhance the community. We do this by getting involved with the area residents and encouraging tree plantings that conserve habitat and build habitat that is favorable to pheasants as well as other wildlife. When funds are available we like to help pay for the cost of the trees. We also have seed available in the spring for food plots.
