CASA- Court Appointed Special Advocates at DCS

CASA- Court Appointed Special Advocates at DCS Today 60% of the children in the system have no access to a CASA volunteer. That's almost 400,000 children without the hope a CASA volunteer can bring.

CASA trains and supports volunteer advocates who speak independently for the best interest of abused and neglected children in the 10th Judicial Circuit, which consists of Marion, Monroe and Ralls Counties in Missouri. We are committed to serving every child. With a CASA volunteer, a child is half as likely to languish in the foster care and child welfare system, and that much more likely to find a safe, permanent and nurturing home.

The DCS Board and Staff would like to remind you that the Offices and Food Pantry will be closed for the annual shutdown starting on December 19. The Food Pantry will reopen on January 5, 2026.

Last week was a little crazy…. But I wouldn’t change what I do or how much I truly LOVE what I do. I’m grateful for this position and the children I’m able to make that connection with.
You never know how someone is feeling or what they may be holding onto; some carry some big loads and keep a smile on their face. With so much going on and Holidays coming up, I encourage you to reach out to someone new- say hello, smile, tell someone you like what they’re wearing, you like their hair😉 anything! It may sound crazy but that small gesture could impact someone more than you know!
Here’s to another crazy busy week and reminding myself to do the same!
