As students across the region head back to the classroom, HREDC is wishing our students, teachers, staff, administrators and families a wonderful school year! βœπŸ““πŸšŒ

At HREDC, we're proud to work alongside our local schools, employers, and community partners to help students explore careers, discover opportunities close to home, and begin imagining what their future could look like. πŸŒŸπŸŽ’

Our Workforce Pipeline Coordinator, Coley Haycraft, had a great time yesterday visiting the library and connecting with kids of all ages πŸ“š

From giving Band-Aids to teddy bear "boo-boos," to handing out Careers In Our Counties coloring books, to talking with teens about their futures, we had the opportunity to connect with kids from ages 5-15!
Career exploration can start at any age and every conversation is the chance to plant a seed 🌱
Thank you to the library for inviting us and for creating these opportunities for kids!

πŸ“š Career Exploration Starts Early!

We had a great time visiting five classrooms at the Hannibal Children's Center for a career-themed story hour!

We read Dr. Seuss' Maybe You Should Fly a Jet! Maybe You Should Be a Vet!, played career guessing games, and talked about all the different possibilities for their futures βœˆπŸ‘·πŸ‘©β€βš•οΈπŸš’

A special thank you to Wendy Johnson with MACC for collaborating with us, adding to the career conversations, and providing STEM kits for the students to take home and explore!

It's never too early to spark curiosity and introduce kids to the many careers they could explore someday! 🌟

Conversations like these help strengthen partnerships, highlight the opportunities in our region, and ensure the Hannibal area has a voice in discussions that shape the future of transportation, trade, and economic development.

Public perception can sometimes inaccurately limit the Mississippi River’s potential CANTON, Mo.–It’s time to shake those old ways of thinking when it comes to the Mississippi River, and that it’s just about floods and moving corn and soybeans. That was the message of a special panel of expe...
