MACAA Goals:

To increase the effectiveness of com-munity arts agency boards, staff and volunteers with professional development opportunities and direct technical assistance. To encourage networking among Missouri community arts agencies and artists to share information and to facilitate the development of working partnerships. To articulate the views and interests of Missouri community arts agencies and artists and to communicate issues of state, regional and national significance.

MACAA Outreach Coordinator Michael Gaines recently attended a board meeting of the Lebanon Concert Association. It's always engaging to meet face-to-face with community leaders, but we're also available via email, ZOOM or phone!

POSITION OPENING: Office Administrator

The Hannibal Arts Council is looking for a full-time Office Administrator. The Office Administrator is responsible for overseeing day-to-day office operations and providing administrative support for the organization, board of directors, committees and programs. The position helps ensure smooth office management, assists with bookkeeping duties, coordinates communications and scheduling, and serves as a welcoming point of contact for visitors, artists, volunteers and the public. The position involves some attendance at meetings/programs in the evenings/weekends.

We’re looking for someone with strong verbal and written communication skills, comfortable multi-tasking while maintaining attention to detail, proficient with Office Suite (WORD, EXCEL, Outlook)/Microsoft Teams, experience with bookkeeping duties, and comfortable working with the public. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable and enjoys working in a creative community environment. Graphic design experience a plus. Pay commensurate with skills and experience.

MACAA Staff recently attended the Missouri Arts Awards in Jefferson City. Since 1983, the Missouri Arts Council and the State of Missouri have been honoring our state’s arts heroes—the people who make the arts happen! The awards have acclaimed 262 people, organizations, and communities throughout Missouri, including MACAA! Honorees are selected in six categories: Arts Education, Arts Organization, Creative Community, Individual Artist, Leadership in the Arts, and Philanthropy.
