Domestic violence is still taboo even with all the progress we have made. Sexual molestation is still only whispered about. As a child, it was extremely traumatic to watch my mother being beaten and choked. Hear her calling for help knowing that I was powerless to help her. Holding my sister and brother as they shivered and cried knowing that at some point I would have to protect them and stand up for my mother. It didn’t turn out so well for my brother when he did so and I was not looking forward to it. I remember the day that I stood up for the first time. It was scary, but I had no choice. Thankfully, I was able to dodge the flying objects and defuse the situation and stop the fighting. But, from that day on, I became the protector and the peacemaker and I was only 8 years old. For years, we didn’t know if it was going to be a good day or a bad day. In addition to the violence, I was also sexually molested for years from more than one adult male. I remember that first time like it was yesterday as well and I was 6 years old in first grade. On a daily basis, I was bombarded with thoughts of what the new day was going to bring. Dreading the sunrise and the sunset. This is no way for a child to live. When I found this company, I found a place where I can make a difference to any child living in the same conditions or even worse than I faced. If I can save just one child from enduring what I went through, I will have made a difference. If I can save just one woman from becoming a victim, I will have made a difference. Our mission is to Equip. Empower. Educate. We can give the power to those who feel powerless. That is my mission! We offer not only products for sale, but education as well as partner with organizations that help women and children to become free. Please join me and let’s make a difference together!
