The Friends of Esther Fellowship Story

Friends of Esther Fellowship started out meeting once a month in the town of Narrowsburg, NY for dinner and fellowship. We encouraged you to come and get refreshed. Then the dinner closed and we were rented the Tusten Town Hall Building the third Friday of the month because Tuesday’s were already taken by another group. That was located next to the Library in the basement. They have a beautiful meeting hall and kitchen for our use. From there we met in Andrea Leonetti’s dining room at her house on school street in Narrowsburg. And currently we have been using the Callicoon Gas Station Caffe the third Tuesday of each month to gather the women together and build deep meaningful relationships with each other.

Here is the back story to how Friends of Esther Fellowship came to be.

Pastor Shannon was doing what she called “Ladies Night Out” in the Callicoon/Jeffersonville area for several years along with her cousin Cindy Adams. Many bridges of relationship were started and woman began to come to Jesus as a result of ladies night out. Shannon’s cousin passed away from Brain Cancer and for a season Ladies Night out stopped while the group was grieving the loss of Cindy. But then the Lord had begun putting it on Shannon's heart to “re-start” ladies night out, but she was in need of others to come along side and help take care of the administrative end of it like securing a place, sending out invitations, etc.

Andrea Leonetti had went to Pastor Shannon because the Lord had been compelling her to action. Andrea wanted to see Ladies Night Out start again but "with a Christian Theme" so she went to visit Shannon at Grace Church in Callicoon and shared with her what the Lord had been speaking to her and asked Shannon if she would help her to re-start Ladies night out again. Little did Andrea know that Shannon was already praying asking God to send forth a person with the gift of administration to help secure the restaurants each month and keep track of reservations information because her cousin Cindy Adams who used to help with Ladies Night passed away from cancer and therefore Shannon had no one to help. So, when Andrea arrived at Grace Church with the news God was stirring her heart for ladies night Shannon said , "Thank you Jesus for sending me Andrea". Andrea then began to do the administrative leg work, and conferred with Shannon along the way. Dianne VanRooyen then shared she was also willing to help by mailing out invitations and began praying for the woman's ministry even before it re-started. We were all thrilled when the Holy Ghost came down with HIS own agenda at our first ladies night out and brought us Penny Jaggars from Waymart PA who was already ministering to women through a group she founded called Esther Ministries. And so Ladies Night Out and Esther Ministries merged to birth a new work we lovingly refer to as "Friends of Esther Fellowship" and the rest is history. See we make our plans but the Lord orders our steps.
