New and expanding businesses can increase their bottom line through EDC assistance:

The Governor’s Economic Development Initiative provides substantial State tax credits for hiring qualified employees and a sales tax exemption on manufacturing equipment purchases. The California Competes Tax Credit is an income tax credit available to businesses that want to come to California or stay and grow in California. The Recycling Market Development Zone offers up to $2 million in low interest financing to businesses that divert materials from the solid waste stream or utilize such materials to manufacture a new product. Technical assistance is available. The Small Business Administration HUBZone assists qualified Kings County employers with preferences of up to 10% on federal contracts to provide goods and services. The Central California U.S. Foreign Trade Zone is designed to delay, reduce or eliminate tariffs paid on goods imported into the United States. The EDC Business Loan Program assists with a variety of financing options for business startups and expansions, including financing to acquire real property, equipment, and working capital. Kings EDC partners with the Job Training Office, the California Employment Development Department and other providers of workforce development through the Kings County One-Stop Job Center. Kings EDC attended the ribbon-cutting and open house for Lemoore College’s new Visual Arts & Applied Sciences (VAAS) Building on Thursday, Dec. 4.
It was a great opportunity to support our partner, Lemoore College, and to explore the programs that will be housed in the VAAS Building: Nursing, Paramedic, Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Art, Information Technology, Business, and Computer Information Systems.
Thank you to Lemoore College lemoorecollege for providing students with access to industry-relevant programs and supporting their academic success close to home.

Kings EDC hosted the 2025 Annual Dinner at the Charm House , bringing together our members for a successful evening of networking, collaboration, and celebration.

During the event, members appointed the newly elected Board of Directors and received the release of the 2025 Annual Report. Kings EDC Loan Officer Jorge Espinoza also provided valuable updates on the Kings EDC loan program. It was an enjoyable and productive evening supporting the mission of Kings EDC.
