DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AWARENESS MONTH

On October 28, 2025, the Kings County Board of Supervisors passed a resolution proclaiming the month of October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM). 💜

DVAM is a national campaign dedicated to raising awareness about domestic violence and supporting those affected by it. Each October, organizations and individuals across the country unite to uplift the needs, voices, and experiences of survivors.

Congress first declared October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month in 1989, and the movement continues today reminding us that together, we can make a difference. 💜

A judge will soon decide whether the District Attorney’s Office may present evidence to transfer a juvenile to adult court. This decision directly impacts all victim families, past and present.

To ensure victims’ voices are heard and justice is pursued, we urge all victim families to attend the upcoming hearing.
