Alfred Erickson American Legion Post 186 Auxiliary announces Operation Copper Country Active Duty 2025. We are proud to support and thank our local active duty troops with gifts from the Copper Country. Our first step is to compile a list of names and addresses of troops from our area so we may remember them this Christmas. If you know of any local troops currently on active duty, please let us know their names and contact information for a family member.
Containers for monetary donations can be found at various businesses in the Copper Country. Along with monetary donations, we welcome Copper Country gift items such as shirts/sweatshirts/hats, U.P.-made chocolates, nonperishable snacks, Keweenaw playing cards, reading materials, stationery or any item that will remind our local servicemen and servicewomen of home. Gift items can be dropped off at Peterson Chiropractic in Hancock, MI.
We are also holding a raffle with all proceeds to benefit Operation Copper Country Active Duty; if you would like to donate a raffle prize it would be greatly appreciated also. Raffle prizes include a $300 1st prize along with other items donated by local businesses. Tickets are $5 each and the drawing will be on December 7, 2025.
For more information or to submit names of troops, please contact Deb Guilbault at 906-281-1952, or email: [email protected]
