On November 16th, our town will be on the route of the American Discovery 250 Relay — a 6,800-mile, coast-to-coast journey celebrating America’s 250th anniversary. From California to the Atlantic, this incredible relay will pass right through our community, and YOU can be part of it.

Walk, run, bike, or volunteer ... this is a unique opportunity to showcase Hancock and be part of a once-in-a-generation national event. Let’s show them what our town is all about.

📣 WE’RE LOOKING FOR COMMUNITY MEMBERS!

🎨 Join Our Public Art Mural Committee

Main Street Hancock is forming a small mural committee to help guide our upcoming public art project and we’re looking for fresh voices from our community.

We’re especially hoping to involve new faces and individuals who may not already be serving on multiple boards or organizations giving more people the opportunity to be part of shaping Hancock’s future.

💡 We’d love to have:
• A high school student who loves art
• Local residents
• Business owners
• Anyone who wants to get involved and has a passion for our town

✨ What would you do?
• Review artist applications
• Help select mural concepts
• Participate in artist interviews
• Ensure we’re following grant guidelines
• Provide thoughtful community input

⏱️ Time Commitment:
Very manageable, just a few meetings and reviews. This is not a heavy or long-term obligation (unless you want it to be).

Our goal is to keep this committee focused, balanced, and representative with the time and space to do it right.

🌟 We’re Looking for a Secretary – Join Main Street Hancock! 🌟

Main Street Hancock is currently looking for a volunteer Secretary to join our board. No prior experience is required—just a willingness to be involved and help make a difference in our community.

This is a volunteer position (none of our board members are paid) and typically requires about 4–6 hours per month. It’s a small time commitment for a meaningful impact.

📍 We prefer someone local, but you can live in the surrounding area—you don’t have to live directly in Hancock.

What does the Secretary do?
The Secretary plays an important role in keeping the organization organized and running smoothly, including:
• Recording meeting minutes and tracking approvals
• Helping coordinate board meetings and notices
• Maintaining the meeting calendar
• Keeping official records organized (bylaws, minutes, resolutions)
• Supporting annual filings and general organization compliance

This is a great opportunity to:
✔ Get involved in your community
✔ Be part of revitalizing Main Street
✔ Work alongside a passionate and dedicated team
