Hancock Town Pride

Hancock Town Pride Hancock Town Pride formed in 2012. The goals of our group are to foster community spirit & involvement, beautify the town and to offer events & activities.

Hancock was chartered July 31, 1781 and named for John Hancock, the Revolutionary Boston patriot. It is commonly held that Hancock was the first to sign the Declaration of Independence; while that is not the case, his signature is indeed the most noticeable, because of its size and bold flourishes, such that his name has long been synonymous with "signature" ("Put your John Hancock right there..."). Population (according to 2010 census): 323
