Happy National Trails Day!

While our field crew spends much of their time working off-trail in streams, wetlands, and remote watershed areas, we occasionally have the opportunity to visit some of the beautiful public trail systems throughout the Delaware River Watershed.

During culvert assessments, our team explores trails that showcase the region's diverse landscapes and natural resources. These trails not only provide great recreational opportunities but also help connect people to the waterways and habitats we work to protect.

Some of the public trails we've visited include:
• Hunter Road Trail
• Long Pond Trail
• Bashakill Trail & D&H Canal Towpath

Have a favorite trail in the Delaware River Watershed? Tell us what you love about it in the comments!

Today marks the first day of Great Outdoors Month.

And there's no better time to reconnect with nature than right now. Spend time on a trail, go fishing, visit a local park, explore a stream, or discover a place you've never been before. Outdoor recreation supports physical and mental well-being, while fostering appreciation for the forests, wildlife, and natural landscapes that make our region so special.

What plans do you have to indulge in the outdoors this month?
