Aloha kakou, we are working on an event of our own so please stay tuned for that, but in the meantime we also would like to support the other organizations on Maui doing excellent work. Another coming up:

Here are the details on the 6/15 Surfrider event.

The International Surf Day Beach Clean Up + Rock the Beach. It’s a day when we pause to celebrate and enjoy the beaches and waves that we all love. This year, while we band together to share the stoke of surfing, we also aim to raise awareness of urgent threats to our precious coastline.

Event details Saturday, June 15 9AM-1:30PM:

Goal: 200 people attendance goal
9am-10am free meditation and yoga class with Karin Kuhn (owner of Maha Yoga in Paia)

Aloha Hana folks! If anyone is going to be on the other side tomorrow- here is a great trash clean up event to volunteer at Malama Maui! Mahalo!
As part of a multi-day cleanup and a longer term waste to resource project we are hosting a marine debris sorting/counting event. Today will be the day where we characterize plastic materials cleaned from Makamaka'ole gulch on the west side of Maui. We expect to collect several shipping containers of marine debris of all sizes during our cleanup, which will be transported via helicopter out of the gulch and brought to the Malama Maui Nui baseyard. Come for the entire day, meet other community volunteers, and learn about new and innovative multi-organizational projects.

Some serious perspective.

There is a vast sea of trash in our ocean. For the first time, we now have a comprehensive picture of the toll it is taking on seabirds, sea turtles and marine mammals.
