Official Statement from Parents Against Bullying
As the Executive Director of Parents Against Bullying, I am deeply saddened by the recent bullying incident in Richmond—an incident that reminds us all of the devastating impact bullying can have when communication, intervention, and support systems fall short.
Our hearts go out to Vonda Boss and her family, as well as to all individuals affected by this situation. No family should have to endure the pain that comes from something that could have been prevented through awareness, accountability, and proactive engagement.
Parents Against Bullying, we firmly believe that prevention begins with open communication between schools, families, and communities.
When those connections are broken or overlooked, our children are left vulnerable. This moment calls for reflection—but more importantly, action.
We remain committed to our mission to educate, advocate, and empower youth and families. We will continue working to ensure that every child feels seen, heard, and protected, and that no warning sign goes unnoticed.
To the Richmond community—we stand with you. We encourage unity, dialogue, and a renewed commitment to creating safe spaces for all children.
Hold on, Richmond. We are with you.
