The Omega Sigma Alumnae Chapter is located in Newport News, VA & serves the Hampton Roads area. The chapter was chartered by seven visionaries:

Omega Sigma Chapter was organized May 1939 at the Northeast Regional Conference. Barnes, Irene J. Martin, Arquilla Ross Bradshaw, Marie L. Holland, Iris Bradby Peeples, Mildren D. Harrell and Madge Ford Daniels. Omega Sigma Chapter is located in Newport News, VA and serves the Peninsula communities of Newport News, Hampton, Yorktown, Gloucester, and Williamsburg. Omega Sigma was the first organize

d African-American group to present debutants on the Peninsula. In May 2021, the chapter celebrated its 82nd Anniversary. Some of the signature programs of Omega Sigma include: the Youth Symposium at the Pheobus Community Center, Operation Big Book Bag for students in the chapter's service area, Baby Blessing partnership with Riverside Regional Medical Center. The chapter also sponsors a Philo & Rhoer Club. NEW DATE! Join the Pretty Poodles of The Outstanding Omega Sigma Chapter for our Car Wash Fundraiser on June 13, 2026 at Rimtyme Custom Wheels and Tires from 11am - 3pm.

We’ll be scrubbing and shining cars to raise funds for our chapter. Food will be sold. All donations welcomed, every dollar helps.

We are grateful for 87 years of Greater Service, Greater Progress! We are grateful for the foundation our Charter Members laid for us back in 1939 💛💙 May you rest in knowing that your work was not in vain and that the legacy continues!

Come and Rholl with the Omega Sigma Rhoer Club () on April 18, 2026 and support their fundraiser!

Have fun skating, fellowshipping and grooving to some good music!

The best part is skate rentals are included for the first 40 individuals! Come out and support the Omega Sigma Rhoer club! All ages are welcome!
