In 1981, Martha Nicholson purchased an old barber shop at her own expense and opened The Cat Corner in Hampton, Virginia. The Cat Corner is a no-kill, non-profit cat shelter for homeless cats, that has been operated by volunteers since 1981 and is solely funded by donations. Cats are accepted into the shelter as space becomes available and each receives proper medical care, will be spayed/neutered and updated on their shots prior to becoming available for adoption. Adopting families are screened and care is taken to closely match cats and their new families to insure a good fit. It would be unfair to the cat to get attached to a family...only to be brought back to the shelter. We do ask though, if it is not a good fit or there is a change of circumstances and you can no longer provide care for you cat, please bring them back to the Cat Corner and to not take them anywhere else. Please come by and visit the kitties, we are always looking for dedicated volunteers and wonderful forever homes for our kitty residents. Cats know the song in your heart and purr it to you when your memory fails.

Meet Rosalynn!

This adorable orange tabby is incredibly sweet and absolutely loves affection. She adores cuddling with her people and her siblings, but do not expect her to sit still for too long, Rosalynn is one spunky little adventurer! She is always the first one to try something new and loves keeping herself busy with all kinds of kitten fun. You will find her climbing her cat tree, pouncing on toys, playing chase with her siblings, and generally making sure there is never a dull moment! And then, after she has completely tuckered herself out, Rosalynn has the most adorable way of hitting her off switch. She will randomly flop down on you and fall fast asleep! Because obviously the best place for a tired little kitten to recharge is right on her human.

Bonded Pair Alert 🐱🐱

Meet Chloe!

Chloe is a darling kitten who loves playing with all kinds of toys. When she is done playing, she transforms into a total cuddle bug. She is incredibly affectionate with her humans. Do not let her small size fool you, this little girl has a surprisingly big, rumbling purr! When she isn't snuggling with her humans, you can usually find her basking in a sunny window, happily watching the world go by. Just like her brother, Chloe has one very important request: she must be adopted with her brother, Max. Chloe absolutely adores Max and always needs to know where he is, they are never far apart! Together, they offer the perfect balance of love and play. They will run, chase toys, snuggle up together, and keep each other perfectly entertained whenever you have to step out.

Meet Fuji!

With the softest black fur, a love for stretching out, and a heart full of love, Fuji is one handsome boy who is ready to find his forever family! Fuji has earned the adorable nickname Slinky Mink� because this affectionate boy LOVES to stretch out and get comfy. But do not let all that lounging fool you, Fuji is also playful, social, and always ready for some fun!
This sweet boy loves to cuddle, whether he is snuggling with his people or curling up with his sisters. He is incredibly affectionate and has so much love to give. He also enjoys toys that make noise, and one of his favorite things is carrying soft toys around in his mouth like a tiny treasure hunter!

Meet Cosmic!

Cosmic apparently missed the memo about Tortitude, because this girl is the absolute opposite of sassy. She is sweet, affectionate, cuddly, and completely convinced that she is a tiny human. Cosmic LOVES her people and her siblings and is happiest when she can be right in the middle of the action. She loves to be cuddled and can even be held like a baby! When she is in a playful mood, you will find her pouncing on noisy toys and having a grand time. Other times, she is perfectly content to sit back and watch everyone else provide the entertainment. And when bedtime rolls around? Cosmic wants to be right there with you! She loves sleeping in bed and will even crawl underneath the blankets to snuggle up with her humans. Because apparently being a cat is optional when you can be a tiny, furry person instead!
