πŸ“£ Exciting News from the Georgia Black Doula Network & Atlanta Doula Collective

Please note that this Georgia Black Doula Network page will stop posting after June 30. To stay connected with events, programs, announcements, and opportunities, be sure to follow .

As our organizations have grown, we’ve recognized how deeply connected our missions and communities are. To better serve doulas, birth workers, families, and communities across Georgia, we’ve decided to bring our social media platforms together under one unified brand: Georgia Black Doula Network.

This transition allows us to strengthen our impact, streamline communication, and create one central space for education, advocacy, professional development, and community building. The Atlanta Doula Collective will continue to be a vital part of our work through this unified network.

Thank you for being part of this journey. Just as it takes a village to support families, it takes a united community to strengthen the birth work movement. We’re excited for this next chapter together.

✨ One mission. One community. One network.

✨ Acceptance Advice from a Program Alum ✨

When asked, β€œWhat would you say to someone who is considering joining the program?” this was Yuyu’s response:

πŸ’¬ β€œ When you receive your acceptance letter, Take time to sit, reflect and water yourself.”

This program is an incredible opportunity to grow as a leader, build meaningful connections, and create impact in your community but it also requires commitment, passion, and intention.

As we continue our application review process, we’re reflecting on the wisdom shared by those who have come before. Take this as a reminder to prioritize your well-being, prepare to learn, and get ready to fully engage in the journey ahead.

The work is important. The work is meaningful. And the work starts with making sure you’re equipped to show up as your best self. ❀️

From Georgia to Belize πŸ‡§πŸ‡ΏβœˆοΈπŸ’›

During our 2026 GBDN Belize Mission Trip, Sekesa Berry had the opportunity to speak with members of the Belize community about the current maternal health climate in Georgia and the alarming maternal mortality rates impacting Black women across the diaspora.

What made this conversation so powerful was realizing that although we come from different countries and cultures, many of our struggles are deeply connected. Black maternal health is not just a local issue, it is a global issue that continues to impact Black women and families everywhere.

These moments of international dialogue, sisterhood, education, and community remind us why this work matters so deeply. Together, we continue building bridges across the diaspora to advocate, educate, and fight for healthier futures for Black mothers worldwide. 🌍🀎

βœ¨πŸ‡§πŸ‡Ώ 2026 GBDN Belize Mission Trip πŸ‡§πŸ‡Ώβœ¨

This year, our incredible group of doulas traveled to Belize for the 2026 GBDN Mission Trip, where service, learning, sisterhood, and community came together in such a meaningful way. πŸ’›

Throughout the trip, our team had the opportunity to connect with and learn from pioneers in the maternal health field in Belize, gaining valuable insight into the work being done to support mothers, babies, and families within local communities. We are so grateful for every conversation, partnership, and shared experience.

We are also proud to share that we donated 500 lbs of medical supplies to the Hopkins Polyclinic to help support healthcare efforts and resources for the community. πŸ©ΊπŸ“¦

Beyond the work, this trip was filled with laughter, bonding, culture, and unforgettable memories. From serving the community to spending quality time together in sisterhood, this mission reminded us of the power of connection, compassion, and collective care. 🌺✨

Thank you to everyone who supported, encouraged, donated, and poured into this mission. Belize, thank you for welcoming us with open arms. πŸ’•
