Maynes Grove horse trails are closed until further notice due to wet conditions

Ever wondered what goes on in our parks once the sun goes down? Join us for our Monthly Moonlight Night Hikes.
Whether you’re a night owl or just looking for a unique way to get some fresh air, this naturalist-led hike is the perfect chance to trade screen time for starlight. We’ll be listening for owls, spotting nocturnal critters, and experiencing the trails in a whole new light (literally!).
📍 Where: Maynes Grove - 946 US-HWY 65 Hampton, IA 50441
⌚When: May 29th @ 8:30pm-9:30pm
🥾 What to bring:
- Comfortable walking shoes
- Flashlight/headlamp (Red tape to help protect our night vision will be provided)
- BUG SPRAY (ticks are out, lets keep them OFF!) spray will be available so don't worry if you forget it!

May 24 update: trails will remain closed to horses due to wet conditions through Memorial Day weekend. Please do not ride the trails when they are closed. We know it's tempting due to the nice weather, but yesterday a rider decided to ride when the trails were closed, leaving divots in the trail making it dangerous for walkers/runners to use the trail. The trails are multi-purpose so we ask that everyone be respectful of the rules so they can be enjoyed by everyone.
