NEW: School Zone Flashing Light Times & Camera Enforcement for Summer Programs

NEW in the City of Hampton this summer, 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝘇𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝘇𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗳𝗹𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀. They will be active 30 minutes before and after student arrival and dismissal times. This ensures the safety of all students, staff, and families throughout the summer months.

This upcoming school year, school zone flashing lights will also be active 30 minutes before and after student arrival and dismissal times — a change from previous years to enhance student safety.

⚠️ Please note: Speed cameras are active when lights are flashing. Drivers exceeding the posted speed limit during these times may receive a ticket.

Below is the flashing light schedule for each Hampton City Schools summer program site:

🔸 Kilgore Gifted Center
📅 Now – July 26, 2025 (Closed July 3)
🕘 Monday – Thursday
🚨 Flashing Times:
• Morning: 8:30 AM – 9:30 AM
• Afternoon: 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM

🔸 Phenix & Andrews
📅 June 25 – July 24, 2025 (Closed July 3)
🕗 Monday – Thursday
🚨 Flashing Times:
• Morning: 7:30 AM – 9:00 AM
• Afternoon: 11:00 AM – 12 PM AND 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM

🔸 High School Summer School (All High Schools - Bethel, Hampton, Kecoughtan, Phoebus)
📅 June 25 – August 3, 2025 (Closed July 3)
🕙 Monday – Thursday

• Morning: 9:30 AM – 10:30 AM
• Afternoon: 1:30 PM – 2:30 PM

🚨 Flashing Times:
• Morning: 8:00 AM – 9:00 AM
• Afternoon: 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM

📸 Reminder: Speeding in a school zone while lights are flashing may result in a ticket. Please drive safely and remain alert.
