Proud and honored for Victorian Station 'The Big Pink' / Big Pink Music to be recognized with Hampton City Council's "Spotlight" Award for our contribution to the city's great local music scene. Even prouder to do it along side our friends at Open Jam Tuesday hosted by Patrick Ryan, and Vanguard Brewpub & Distillery owned by Thomas. Thanks to Magazine and Maisey for the Veer Award recognition in February and to Holtzclaw for helping to elevate it to city leadership. This is what community looks like, folks - especially proud to represent all the local artists who play at The Pink as well as supporting members of Big Pink Music who have enabled us to build this unique listening room.

Calling all members of our Big Pink Music family to support an INCREDIBLE gathering of talent and energy tomorrow (Saturday, March 7) for the “Too Much of a Woman” Festival to celebrate women’s history month. Panel discussions, songwriters in-the round (hosted by Big Pink Music), and a powerful headline show to finish. We’re so proud to partner with our neighbors at The American Theatre and local musician Roberta Lea to bring this festival to Hampton. To keep great music and great venues in our town we need to show up and show out!

Congratulations to Walt Stillman, the winner of last night’s Open Mic song contest. He’ll get to play his two winning songs as the opener for Mike and Amy Aiken’s Tall Tales and Troubadours Show at The American Theatre on March 28.

Thanks to Mike&Amy and The American Theatre for this opportunity to elevate our local talent. Kudos to all the amazing artist who played our event last night at Victorian Station 'The Big Pink'. Thanks to NSAI Tidewater for partnership and to Bobby BlackHat, Mike Holtzclaw, and Michael King&Bill Miles for judging last night!

We normally keep our in-the-round finale songs a secret, but this one is just too good not to share with everyone as we are celebrating the Sea Level Singer/Songwriter Festival. The original song, written by the phenomenal Larry Berwald for Tidewater Arts Outreach more than a decade ago, still rings true. Larry, Nate Sacks, Melanie Howdershell, Tom Euler, and Roy Ira Moats will perform this with special guests MaryAnn Toboz, Dry Land, and Resa Gibbs at tomorrow's show:

We have so much for which to be grateful...let's see if we can put it in action in the month of November at Victorian Station 'The Big Pink' to help our neighbors in need.

Following a great lead from Karl Werne and Karl's Community (please have a look at his post shared either above or below with beautiful photos and more details) we are partnering with a wonderful Hampton-based organization SAME - So All May Eat who are "addressing nutritional and physical needs with our neighbors who are without homes or are living in poverty." What they do is inspiring - and I know many of us can help.

Please see attached fliers showing EXACTLY HOW you can help (note QR codes) with several of their end-of-year initiatives. The great volunteers at SAME have dropped donation bins for us at The Pink (you can see we got a great start at our October 4th Sunday song circle) for donations that we're hoping our November event attendees will bring. (In-the-round on Nov 8, Open Mics on Nov 6 & 20, and Song circle on Nov 23).

Big Pink Music and supporters...If we all give a little, we can make a big difference to our neighbors and community.
