Bridge of Hope North Central Iowa Bridge of Hope works to end and prevent homelessness in families using a church based approach. Serving Franklin and surrounding counties.

Bridge of Hope North Central Iowa was established in 2009 to call and equip Christians in Franklin and surrounding Counties to exemplify Christ’s love through a life-changing mentoring ministry with homeless single mothers and their children. The Bridge of Hope program model is built on three-way partnerships between homeless families, trained church-based mentoring groups and Bridge of Hope’s cas

e managers. With the support of mentoring friends, professional case management and temporary rental assistance to allow for employment training and a fresh start, single mothers are finding long-term solutions to homelessness that work for their families. Bridge of Hope North Central Iowa trains mentors from Protestant and Catholic churches and provides rental assistance and professional case management to homeless and at-risk single mothers and children. Congratulations to the crew from St Patrick's Catholic Church for taking 1st place! First Bank Hampton came in a close 2nd, and Sukup Manufacturing 3rd! THANK YOU to all who participated in our 2026 Game Show Night! We had 156 players and raised just under $10,000.

Team Retz included: Diane Wills, Nancy Retz, Kim Wills, Fred Retz, Leah Cruz, and Brianne Engleman. Kudos to First Bank Hampton and Quizly Clones for their close 2nd and 3rd place finishes!

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY: We are currently looking for a group of 4-5 individuals to serve as a Neighboring group in our community! Please reach out to our page for more information.

What is NEIGHBORING?
Neighboring is the act of being like Jesus to a neighbor in need. Families facing homelessness need good neighbors who will:
- Open your Heart - Give support, encouragement and build a relationship
- Open your Hands - Offer tangible, practical support, such as help looking for housing and childcare, help with transportation, household furnishings, meals, etc.
- Open Doors - Use your personal and professional networks to help a family find housing, medical providers, employment, job training or other resources to support a family’s long-term success.
- Open Your Eyes - As a faith community, your eyes will be opened – to the pain, trauma and resiliency of families facing homelessness, the brokenness in all of us, the significance of mutual relationships with others, and the importance of Neighboring as followers of Jesus. It’s all about making a true difference in the lives of others.
