Happy Charter Day Upenda Sisters!

Keep Moving FORWARD!

Happy Kwanzaa and Happy New Year! Day 7 is Imani (Faith). Faith focuses on honoring the best of our traditions, draws upon the best in ourselves, and helps us strive for a higher level of life for humankind, by affirming our self-worth and confidence in our ability to succeed and triumph in righteous struggle. Today celebrate the last of Kwanzaa by being hopeful and striving for greatness. Have a prosperous new year!

12/31/2014

Happy Kwanzaa! Day 6 is Kuumba (Creativity). Nuff said... Go out today and allow those creative juices to start flowing. You may surprise yourself at the things you can do and create, as well as impress others by your talents. A great feast will also be in order to enjoy with friends and family this evening. Prepare yourself for new experiences on this day. Create!

12/30/2014

Happy Kwanzaa! Day 5 is Nia (Purpose). Purpose encourages us to look within ourselves and to set personal goals that are beneficial to the community. Today try to live out that new years resolution you made on January 1, 2014. Otherwise, make a plan, set small attainable goals, and stick to them. Carry out your purpose in life.

12/29/2014

Happy Kwanzaa! Day 4 is Ujamaa (Cooperative Economics). Supporting businesses that care about the community. Purchase goods from the local mom and pop stores today. Support a small business or budding shop and buy their products.

12/28/2014

Happy Kwanzaa! Day 3 is Ujima (Collective Work and Responsibility). Collective Work and Responsibility reminds us of our obligation to the past, present and future, and that we have a role to play in the community, society, and world. Take responsibility for the choices you make. Fix poor decisions from the past, and make good choices for the future to ensure success in your life and among your colleagues. It's not too late to start today and create a new future.

12/27/2014

Happy Kwanzaa! Day 2 is Kujichagulia (Self-Determination). Kujichagulia calls for us to define ourselves, name ourselves, create for ourselves, and speak for ourselves. We urge you to take some time today to figure out who you are and who you are not. If you aren't who you want to be, today is a great day to start the journey towards being that person.

12/26/2014

Happy Kwanzaa! Day 1 is Umoja (Unity). Umoja stresses the importance of togetherness for the family and community. At this pivotal moment in time, we are urged to come together and be the voice for those who have none. Let us support one another and build a better today.
