Today is the first day of $4 for 4-H! Visit www.georgia4h.org/four to give $4 (or more) to Fortson 4-H Center and help us continue providing life-changing programs to youth from all over Georgia. Give anytime between now and Saturday to count towards our Fortson 4-H Center total. Friday is a special bonus day for 4-H center support – stay tuned!

Fortson 4-H Center would like to introduce the two newest members to our H**p Lab! Dale is a White Oak Gray Ratsnake (Pantherophis spiloides). Latifah is an Eastern Kingsnake (Lampropeltis getula). Don’t miss your opportunity to meet them in person during Spring EE ‘26!

CALLING ALL TEEN LEADERS!

Are you going to be 14 by July 12th? Do you want to go to camp, but enjoy serving others? Consider applying to be a Teen Leader for Community Camp, July 12-16, 2026. Applications are due by May 15th! Applicants must be 14 by the first day of camp, submit a 1-page essay, interview with the Community Camp Committee and if selected must attend in-person Teen Leader training.

Camp cost are the same for Teen Leaders at $400. Selected applicants will receive 50% off their camp cost!

Community Camp Registration and Teen Leader Applications are LIVE!!!!

Community Camp is July 12-16, 2026 for ages 9-13 years. Cost for 2026 is $400.

Community Camp Registration:
Receive $50 off your camp cost when register on or before May 1, 2026.
Receive $50 off camp cost when a friend or family member attends camp with you! Applied only once per camper.
Registration officially closes on June 19, 2026.

Fortson 4-H Center is EXCITED to introduce Scout Ranger Caroline! She brings experience and leadership expertise to Fortson 4-H Center from her time at Wahsega, Jekyll and Rock Eagle 4-H Centers. We know she is going to do an AMAZING job this summer.

Fortson will be offering Homeschool Day Programming during Fall 2025. The focus of this season's programming will be Ecology. Each date listed below will focus on a unique aspect of the environment surrounding Fortson.

Dates & Program: The dates for homeschool programming at Fortson are:

October 7- Ichthyology (Fishing)

October 14- Entomology (Insects)

October 21- Pond Ecology

October 28- Forest Ecology

November 4- Ornithology (Birds)

November 11- H**petology (Reptiles & Amphibians)

(All dates are in 2025).

Cost: The total cost of all 6 program dates is $102 per student, and $30 per adult. Children 4 years of age or younger are FREE but MUST be accompanied by a paying adult. Fortson 4-H Center Environmental Education rates are a base rate per person meaning each person attending the program including teachers, administration, parents, volunteers and/or students will be charged for your trip.

Important Details: All participating students MUST be accompanied by a paying adult. All accompanying adults must stay with their student(s) during the duration of the programming visit. Fortson 4-H Center CANNOT offer any credits or refunds based on dates or classes missed or unattended.
