The Franklin County Farm Bureau Women’s Committee is dedicated to strengthening agriculture and rural communities by empowering women to take an active role in leadership, education, and outreach.
What we focus on:
• Provide leadership and involvement opportunities for women in agriculture
• Organize community projects, education, and outreach activities
• Promote and advocate for agriculture and rural life
• Support Farm Bureau programs and connect members to resources
• Build awareness about food, farming, and rural issues
For our annual commodity tour, we explored different areas of agriculture and local industry by visiting Iowa Bee to learn about the bee industry and its importance, and Vicky Schachterle’s garden to see firsthand how local growing operations thrive.

Thank you to North Iowa Ag in the Classroom for hosting two days of professional development workshops, where 35 teachers from across North Iowa had the opportunity to participate in hands-on learning experiences. These sessions allowed teachers to deepen their understanding of agriculture and gain new ideas to bring back to their classrooms.
Thank you to Twisted Rivers for teaching us about the many different types of vegetables you grow, as well as sharing how you use geothermal energy to heat some of your tunnels.
Thank you to SkyView Market for educating us about your cow/calf operation and helping us better understand the care, dedication, and many steps involved in producing and selling high-quality beef.
And a special thank you to Old County Seat Bar & Grill for providing such a wonderful and delicious lunch.
We are so grateful for the time, knowledge, and hospitality each of you shared—it truly made this an unforgettable and valuable experience for all involved!
