Libelle Sisters Riding Club - LSRC

Libelle Sisters Riding Club - LSRC We Empower Women to Ride! Female motorcycle riding club/charitable org. Located in No.Eastern Connecticut. We offer mentoring to new female riders.

We believe it's all about the ride and Sisterhood not the Make & Model of your Bike. On 9/19/2015 we lost our Sister Rider Penny. She was on her Harley when a car ran a stop light hitting and killing her instantly. Her love of riding and helping others is why our Founder started this Riding Club & Charity. A lot of thought went into our Patch. It symbolizes that we are women riding on the wings of

life. The knitting needle and broken crochet hook symbolize that we are the new generation of women that won't be just sitting at home crocheting or knitting as our hair grows grey. The geared dragonflies above our sister rider symbolize all Libelle Sisters working in unison always looking out for each other. The mittens are there as a symbol of our good nature and sense of humor for all the teasing we 1st received from the "guys" when we started out as Wild Grannys. We were told Grannies shouldn't be on bikes, that we should be home knitting mittens. The yarn around the hook symbolizes the ties that bind our love of family and friends. Our membership:
Active Members- Women over 21 years of age that ride and own their own bikes. Active Members have the honor of wearing LSRC's Patch on their Vest. We are a sisterhood that rides together, hosts several free female rides each season with the purpose of empowering women and bringing them together, hosts a couple rides each season that are family friendly and we attend Motorcycle events together. Newbies- In our mission of "Empowering Women to Ride" We offer women with a CT motorcycle permit that are new to riding the opportunity to practice their skills with seasoned riders. (WE ARE NOT INSTRUCTORS or teach riding.) We offer our time to ride with newbies so that they don't have to ride alone. There is no charge for our time and we never pressure women to join. These are a few of our mandatory requirements to join:
1) Must have a motorcycle and Ride it (make and model not important.)
2) Have a valid motorcycle license
3) Have valid insurance
4) When on our Bikes together there is no consumption of alcohol. We want our ladies safe and our rides together accident free. (Drinking is allowed if we are in a car with a designated driver.) If you would like more information please contact us via FB message or send an email to [email protected]

Safe riding and watch out for those that don't watch out for us!!

7 years ago today I announced LSRC's formation. The day is Penny's birthday, our fallen sister, our angel, the reason why I formed LSRC. Today is the day I announce that Libelle Sisters has hung up our Patches. I have had 7 fabulous years in the Motorcycle Community. The memories created with LSRC will be forever in my heart. The love, respect and acceptance shown by our Brothers has been freaking amazing! Life constantly changes in unexpected ways. Through our travels life has brought me to Texas. It was never in Stephen's and my plan to live here but we have fallen in love with this area. We are looking for land to build a container home on.
Giving up Libelle Sisters is one of the hardest decisions I've ever made. My Sisters support and understand my decision.
There are so many people to thank for their love and support over the years. My Gem (Sam) and co-founder of LSRC, for being the 1st person I recruited. Through good times and difficult times she stood by my side always loyal, always a Sister. My "B" for being my Teach and showing me the proper ways of this lifestyle. Without your love, support and encouragement I would have failed. Penny's family for their support and treating me like a part of their family. The women that came and went over the years each of you taught me something and made me a more enlightened woman. The MCs that always treated me with respect and made me earn it (Especially grateful to 81 & 22. Without you guys we never would have been accepted). To our supporters thank you for attending our benefits and rides. It was always a pleasure to see you! Lastly my husband Stephen for being my greatest supporter. He was always by my side and always had my back.
Who knows I may end up back in CT someday and if I do without a doubt you'll see Libelle Sisters reinstated.

To the women that want to form a club here's my advice. DO IT RIGHT! Don't just slap a bought patch on your backs, EARN THAT PATCH. Its not easy but the pride you'll feel when you wear something you worked hard for is a feeling like no other. Don't expect acceptance Earn acceptance. Always show respect and you'll earn respect. It's worth it and creates a bond like nothing else can.
I am proud of Libelle Sisters accomplishments. I am proud that I did something that was out of my comfort zone and I am proud that we helped so many women become riders.
My patch may be hung up but a LIBELLE I am now and always!

Our prayers are with the Uvalde, TX families. There are no words that can describe our sympathy for the loss of so many innocent children. We are mothers and grandmothers. Our children are our lives, our loves, our everything. We can't imagine the pain all these families are going through. πŸ˜πŸ™πŸ™

While my Sisters are up in chilly CT I'm down in Victoria,Texas basking in 89Β° weather. Have rode 5500 miles so far this year. Woohoo! The last few days the wild flowers bloomed here. Fields of flowers everywhere we ride. Pics are of Presidio LaBahia, the Fanning Monument and misc fields.
Spring is on its way up there and I'm looking forward to spending time with my Sisters and Brothers.
Hugs to all
Mama

Our Story

We are a Connecticut Based all Female Riding Club and Charity. We β€œEmpower Women to Ride on the Wings of Life” by offering a Motorcycle Safety Course Scholarship.

Why we formed: On 9/19/2015 we lost our Sister Rider Penny. She was on her Harley when a speeding car ran a stop light hitting and killing her instantly. Her love of riding and helping others is why our Founder started this Riding Club & Charity. Our Patch: A lot of thought went into our Patch. It symbolizes that we are women riding on the wings of life. The knitting needle and broken crochet hook symbolize that we are the new generation of grandmothers and mothers that won't be sitting at home crocheting or knitting as our hair grows grey. The helmet on our lady symbolizes our promotion of safe riding habits. We have 3 memberships available *Active Members- Women over 30 years of age that ride and own their own bikes. These women wear a LSRC Vest. They attend events, meetings and group rides. They also perform volunteer work within the motorcycle community with us. *Associate Members- Women under 30 that own their own bike and ride. These women wear a LSRC t-shirt (this may be changing to a vest with Associate patch). They also perform volunteer work with and attend events with Active Members. *Newbies- In our mission of "Empowering Women to Ride..." we offer a 90 day FREE membership to women with a CT motorcycle permit and are new to riding that would benefit from practicing with seasoned riders. (WE are NOT instructors. Therefore, we DO NOT teach riding. We offer our time to ride with newbies so that they don't have to ride alone) These are a few of our mandatory requirements to join: 1) Must have a motorcycle and ride it. (make and model not important) 2) Must have a valid motorcycle license (valid permit for Newbies) 3) Must have valid insurance and proof of coverage 4) Be a Team Player not a Drama Queen. Be willing and able to volunteer your time at our benefits or benefits we help out at.
