7 years ago today I announced LSRC's formation. The day is Penny's birthday, our fallen sister, our angel, the reason why I formed LSRC. Today is the day I announce that Libelle Sisters has hung up our Patches. I have had 7 fabulous years in the Motorcycle Community. The memories created with LSRC will be forever in my heart. The love, respect and acceptance shown by our Brothers has been freaking amazing! Life constantly changes in unexpected ways. Through our travels life has brought me to Texas. It was never in Stephen's and my plan to live here but we have fallen in love with this area. We are looking for land to build a container home on.
Giving up Libelle Sisters is one of the hardest decisions I've ever made. My Sisters support and understand my decision.
There are so many people to thank for their love and support over the years. My Gem (Sam) and co-founder of LSRC, for being the 1st person I recruited. Through good times and difficult times she stood by my side always loyal, always a Sister. My "B" for being my Teach and showing me the proper ways of this lifestyle. Without your love, support and encouragement I would have failed. Penny's family for their support and treating me like a part of their family. The women that came and went over the years each of you taught me something and made me a more enlightened woman. The MCs that always treated me with respect and made me earn it (Especially grateful to 81 & 22. Without you guys we never would have been accepted). To our supporters thank you for attending our benefits and rides. It was always a pleasure to see you! Lastly my husband Stephen for being my greatest supporter. He was always by my side and always had my back.
Who knows I may end up back in CT someday and if I do without a doubt you'll see Libelle Sisters reinstated.
To the women that want to form a club here's my advice. DO IT RIGHT! Don't just slap a bought patch on your backs, EARN THAT PATCH. Its not easy but the pride you'll feel when you wear something you worked hard for is a feeling like no other. Don't expect acceptance Earn acceptance. Always show respect and you'll earn respect. It's worth it and creates a bond like nothing else can.
I am proud of Libelle Sisters accomplishments. I am proud that I did something that was out of my comfort zone and I am proud that we helped so many women become riders.
My patch may be hung up but a LIBELLE I am now and always!
