🎉 Celebrating 1 Year of Healing, Hope, and Community in Richmond! 🎉

Last week, we gathered at The Reserve at The Highlands to mark a major milestone: Benevolent Family Services Richmond’s 1-Year Anniversary! 🥂✨

We were thrilled to celebrate alongside our incredible team and stellar community partners—including Foundation Medical Group, TEAM LLC, and Poplar Springs Hospital. This first year’s success is a direct result of true teamwork, shared vision, and deep community support.

We are immensely grateful for every connection made, referral received, and—most importantly—every individual and family who trusted us with their care. Supporting others through mental health challenges and substance abuse recovery is demanding work, but it is deeply gratifying. We are honored to walk alongside our clients on their paths to healing, and we look forward to serving the Richmond region for many years to come! 💚

Services We Offer at BFS Richmond:

✅️ Adult Mental Health & Substance Abuse Programs: Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) & Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

✅️ Youth IOP Program: Our new after-school intensive outpatient program for adolescents ages 12–17

✅️ Mental Health Skill-Building Services

If you or someone you know could use compassionate support on their journey, Benevolent Family Services would be honored to help.

Healing doesn’t always require an inpatient stay, but standard weekly therapy isn’t always enough.

If you or a loved one in Hampton or Richmond are navigating complex mental health challenges, recovering from substance use, or stepping down from residential care, our Adult Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP) bridge that critical gap.

Our structured day programs (Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM) offer daily clinical monitoring, evidence-based therapy (CBT/DBT), peer processing groups, and life-skills training—allowing you to receive intensive support while returning home to your own bed each evening.

🌱 What Our PHP Supports:

Mental Health PHP: Intensive daytime care for severe depression, anxiety, PTSD, and bipolar disorder.

Substance Use PHP: Clinical-first wellness, trigger management, and relapse prevention.

Co-Occurring Care: Integrated support for dual-diagnosis needs.

You don't have to navigate recovery alone. Take the step toward structured, daily healing close to home.

📍 Serving Adults in Hampton Roads & Richmond

Conflict and misunderstanding are major triggers for anxiety and stress.

This , practice using "I-Statements" to express your needs clearly without putting others on the defense:

❌ Instead of: "You never listen to me and you're overloading my schedule!"

✅ Try: "I feel overwhelmed when my schedule gets full. I need 30 minutes of quiet time after work before we discuss weekend plans."

Communication is a skill that can be built and refined. Small shifts in phrasing protect your peace and build healthier relationships.

Need guidance on interpersonal skills and boundaries? Learn how our Mental Health Skill-Building team can support you at www.BFShelps.com.
