Hampton Roads Prostate Health Forum is excited for the opportunity to participate in this upcoming free Community Prostate Cancer Awareness Seminar event in Chesapeake, VA on September 26th. Thank you to the Omicron Pi Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha and the Nu Delta Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha for inviting HRPHF to participate in this event.

Hampton Roads Prostate Health Forum was recently awarded an Equity in Action grant from the Office of Community Health, Education & Training at Macon & Joan Brock Virginia Health Sciences at Old Dominion University.

The purpose of this grant is to support the launch of a regional “train the trainer” initiative called the Hampton Roads Prostate Health Academy. This program will establish a regional training platform to amplify our prostate cancer awareness and education message and expand the number of people qualified to teach basic prostate cancer information across Greater Hampton Roads.

We are hosting a virtual information and interest session on September 3rd at 6PM via Zoom, so if you or someone you know would like to attend, follow the link in the comments to register.

Hampton Roads Prostate Health Forum is proud to once again provide prostate cancer awareness and education at the 5th Annual Prostate Cancer and Health Awareness Fair, hosted by Hampton University Proton Cancer Institute in partnership with Sentara Health and Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center.

This year, in celebration of the 5 years of this event, there will 5 types of cancer screening for attendees: prostate, breast, colorectal, head & neck, and skin cancer.

We are looking forward to welcoming hundreds of men and guests for a day of learning and action in the Hampton Roads Community. Visit the HUPCI website to learn more and register today.

Hampton Roads Prostate Health Forum is please to announce the awarding of a $3,000 Equity in Action grant from the of Community Health, Education & Training at Macon & Joan Brock Virginia Health Sciences at Old Dominion University.

We are excited for this grant, which will be used to help launch a regional “train the trainer” academy to amplify our prostate cancer awareness and education message to even more people across Greater Hampton Roads.

More details will be shared later, but the Forum is grateful for this new partnership that will allow us to amplify our impact across the region.

Hampton Roads Prostate Health Forum thanks all those who came out to support our Hampton Prostate Cancer Day of Action at Queen Street Baptist Church!

We had a wonderful time connecting with members of the church and the community, sharing inspiring stories and vital information to promote prostate cancer awareness, education and early detection. Several men took advantage of our free prostate cancer screening that was offered.

We are grateful to our hosts, Queen Street Baptist Church and its Health Ministry; our medical providers, Riverside Health; our sponsors, AstraZeneca, King's Point Enterprises and Sentara, and our other supporters, including 100 Black Men of the Virginia Peninsula and Pfizer.

We look forward to the next opportunity to connect with community for a Day of Action, coming soon to another 757 city near you!
